Spring 2023 House + Home
LOCATION: HEFNER RESIDENCE, MONTECITO (CA)
Eschew the straight and narrow and invite guests to gather round sweeping, asymmetrical silhouettes – like our nesting Kanta Coffee and Side Tables and Beaufort Vale Sectional in cloud-soft bouclé.

Room service
"To infuse rest and relaxation into any space, simplify palette and materials as much as possible. Focus on a few beautiful, built-to-last pieces of scale (editor's note: consider our Swirled Drum Oval Dining Table and Rico Cream Chandelier) that work and function within the space. Keeping within that limited range allows you to swap out and redecorate easily when the time comes. In the same spirit, this home evokes a feeling of renewal, which honors natural history and growth."

Creative Cornerstone
"When we started work on the site, we uncovered outcroppings of stone everywhere, and we had to decide how to deal with it. I chose to integrate the property’s nature into what we were building, and it completely changed the direction of the house. I followed the lead of the stone, which inspired a warm, modern design. We echoed the forms of more traditional architecture, so the result feels both reassuringly known and refreshingly new."

Neutral doesn't have to mean boring. The key to making a palette of ivories and ecrus sing is to incorporate unexpected shapes – say, our Ipanema Vases or ruffled Issey Mirror – and inviting textures, like the Doris Swivel Chair and Beaufort Bouclé Sheba Daybed.
"The intention of building my home in Montecito was to be in nature, and to be outside as much as possible. When I bought the property, I inherited its grove of enormous, 220-year-old native oak trees. The oaks ended up guiding many of our choices. We found ways to build spaces tucked under their canopies without disrupting the root systems."

the overstory
Within shared living spaces, comfort is king. From the made-for-gathering Saguaro Modular Sectional in a serene mint shade to the ever-plush Petra Rug underfoot, loved ones will enjoy a moments of reflection and relaxation seated around the Saba Coffee Table.
One interior trend we're loving for spring? Eye-catching burl wood elements, like our shapely Shura Console Table and arched Tamara Floor Mirror.
With longer, lighter days on the horizon, we're setting the Sonali Cement Indoor/Outdoor Dining Table with rose-colored glassware and dinnerware, courtesy of the Levi Collection.
