Inspirational, engaging, and most importantly, entertaining – our Events Team members are the magic-makers who envision and deliver extraordinary, in-store experiences for our customers. In the words of Kate Elliott, Senior Manager of Marketing Events, “Anything and everything is a story, and our job is telling those stories through experiences.”
Set against the warm May breeze, we spent an afternoon talking about our upcoming events, their planning process, and timeless advice for anyone in the industry.

Making Every Day an Event
Go behind the scenes with our Events Team – and learn what’s on the horizon for summer.
Which upcoming summer event are you looking forward to most?
“For this summer’s lineup, we were able to create an exciting series for our customers that touches different aspects of the business. From styling events with our newly minted 5-star stylists to supporting social impact causes and engaging our Anthropologie Weddings customers, we have a very thoughtful and cohesive offering this summer,” Kate revealed.
Events Associate Michaela Finder can't wait for our new SoHo store opening. “To celebrate the launch, our team has put together an extensive, month-long event series.” Devoted fans of the brand, put your hands together: SoHo is back!
Events Coordinator Dominique Jones is ready to show off Anthropologie Weddings’ aisle style with our “Desto: I Do” event series. This celebration is a "great opportunity to highlight incredible local talent and in-store stylists!” Happening across eight cities, you’ll find everything and everyone from industry experts to local tastemakers.
Plus, we’ve got even more exciting things in store in June, including Community Pop-Up Markets in honor of Juneteenth and a A Summer Fair in celebration of Pride. In August, we'll have an Executive Speaker Series to share more about the people behind our brand.
Tell us a little about the planning process – what elements are most important for a successful event?
For Dominique, a successful event means being ready to wear all of the hats: “Often, you’re not only an event designer, but you’re also a photographer, fabricator, lighting designer, seamstress, and so much more.”
She also pays close attention to the story they’re intending to share. “It’s all in the details,” she said, “the venue, design, florals, music – and even the napkins!”
You know the saying, ‘it takes a village?’ It’s true. “We gather a lot of inspiration from our store teams, who submit ideas each month,” Michaela shared. The roles they play and the relationships they build are a large part of what makes an event successful (and the talk of the town)!
Kate further emphasized the importance of partnerships with various communities: “There’s always someone somewhere with a skill you might need who's able to jump in at a moment’s notice.”
Can you share tips and tricks you use to prepare for an event?
With any event, organization is key. “I always have a notebook for my ideas and to-dos,” Michaela explained. “Laying it out on paper is helpful to keep track of checklists and planning.” Fun fact: If there’s anything that’s effortlessly available at the Anthropologie Home Office, it’s beautiful notebooks, whether monogrammed or delightfully adorned with florals.
When thinking about what to wear to an event, comfort and style are top of mind for Kate. What exactly is she wearing? “Comfortable but fashionable shoes paired with stretchy pants or an easy dress. Whatever will get me from a 7 AM call time through midnight (looking my Anthro best, of course)!” In her back pocket? “A good old checklist in a handy-dandy notebook.”
Looking for Dominique? You can always find her in our fan-fave Colette pants. “From winter to summer, they're my go-tos!” And it's easy to see why – they come in almost every color, fabric, and fit you could possibly dream of, and their versatility makes them perfect for any type of event.
We can all agree: They are experts in event planning and being fashionable and organized.
On and off the clock, the Anthropologie Events Team is garnering inspiration. Kate smiled as she said, “I’m constantly thinking about event design and experience. There's potential everywhere.”
