This exceptional oversized serving tray by Reed & Barton is a remarkable example of classic American silverplate craftsmanship, designed for grand entertaining and large-scale service.

Marked on the underside "Reed & Barton – 7045 – Provincial," this tray was produced by the renowned Massachusetts silversmith, a company founded in 1824 and celebrated for supplying fine tableware to hotels, estates, and formal dining rooms throughout the United States. The "Provincial" pattern reflects a romantic European-inspired design aesthetic that was particularly popular in the early to mid-20th century, drawing inspiration from French Rococo motifs.

At the center of the tray is an intricate chased pattern, featuring flowing scrollwork, floral clusters, and elegant acanthus flourishes arranged in a symmetrical medallion design. The detailing radiates outward and catches the light beautifully across the polished surface.

Surrounding the tray is a deeply scalloped and embossed border, creating a dramatic silhouette and adding dimensional texture. The edge design transitions seamlessly into the substantial cast handles, which are thick, sturdy, and heavily detailed—built for both strength and visual impact.
