In the Kitchen:

Fiery Bean Stew
with Gemma Ogston

Featuring honey, spice and all things nice...

With a new year comes the chance to reset. And here at Anthro, we’re keeping our resolution simple – to zest up the zen. Whether you’re on the hunt for a bowl of comfort to keep chills at bay, or looking to cook up something fresh and uplifting – we think self-care starts with a fully-stocked fridge...

It’s a sentiment that Gemma Ogston – chef, blogger, and author of The Self-Care Cookbook – also shares. In honour of Veganuary, we asked Gemma for some plant-based inspiration, to broaden our culinary horizons and inject a little colour into our plates. Her fiery bean stew is just the ticket: hearty, hot, tangy, and jam-packed with wholesome ingredients.

"If you’re feeling a little bit under the weather, then the ginger and cayenne in this dish can help nip coughs or colds in the bud before they take hold," Gemma says. "The spinach adds extra iron, but swap it for kale or chard if you fancy a change.

A big bowl of this is really all you need to leave you feeling all warm and cosy, restoring you from the inside out!"

All that's left to do? Cosy up, blow to cool, and let the flavours sing...
