How Soak Sunday
Do Self-Care

Meet the brand with me-time at its heart.

After being plunged into a pandemic, Soak Sunday’s founder Tiffany Salmon realised it was more important than ever to touch base with nature and elevate our daily routines – not just as a way of cutting through the noise, but for feel-good’s sake, too.

“On Sundays we find ourselves with more time, we take things slower, escape the pressures of day-to-day life and invoke feelings of calm. I wanted to capture that emotion connected to a lazy moment and bring back bath-time as ritual to revere, whatever day of the week you indulge in it.”

In celebration of all the warmth, joy and ‘ahhhs’ that come with just that, Soak Sunday, a revolutionary British beauty brand, was born. “It all started with our Botanical Bath Soaks. As I chose the ingredients (the soothing salts to the dried petals that float on the water) I found inspiration to create an entire experience,” Tiffany explains.

Rather than focusing on one thing – like scent – she chose to encompass everything that’s special and empowering about wellness. From formulas with drift-off properties, to the meditative words etched onto the packaging that make you feel something, the approach is truly mind, body and soul.

“I wanted to create different ranges for different needs and emotions, an experience for whichever kind of tranquillity you’re searching for in that moment.”

In an age so focused on go, go, go, it’s refreshing to see Soak Sunday’s approach to beauty. Not only restorative, it’s also sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free (three less things to worry about while you relax). Made in the UK from 98-100% natural ingredients, each piece is finished in glass or 100% recyclable board, and branded using soy ink. As Tiffany so perfectly puts it: “Let’s face it, indulgence doesn’t have to mean excess, and I’m proud to tell stories through thoughtful design and minimal waste.”

So, how does someone with self-care as their job unwind? “For me, work can be all consuming and I do struggle to really switch off. I find myself feeling my most zen in the bath or walking on my own, just me and the dog. I don’t listen to music or podcasts, I just relish in having that quiet time with my own thoughts.”

Though hard to find the time, Tiffany encourages everyone to make escapism part of their daily routine. “I think it’s often seen as a luxury, rather than a necessity. It becomes an afterthought, something to squeeze into our routines when the moment allows it,” she says. But something as simple as lighting a candle can be key.

“Let’s start making a conscious effort to reflect, breathe deeply, set intensions and connect to that place of calm. Even if it’s mid-week! You deserve it."
