Question: what makes a bedroom relaxing?
To us, the answer lies beneath the covers. There’s no doubt that lighting and décor play a role, but, when it comes to curating cosy, we find ourselves heading back to bed…
For night owls, it’s a space that promises repose: pillows piled high, soft cottons, soothing shades designed to unwind. And for early birds, it’s a view worth waking up to, at once comforting and bursting with colour.
Our beds fill the room, both physically and visually, so creating an enticing point of focus is key. From grounding tones to maximalist prints, quilts to coverlets, a well-assembled bed is a statement in and of itself.
So, with boudoir bliss in mind, we’ve compiled three ways to style your bed, inspired by our latest bedding collection. Whether you rise with the sun or delight in dusk, rest assured – these bedroom beauties are truly the stuff of dreams…

How to: Arrange the
Perfect Bedroom
Snoozing has never looked so suite…
Don't know where to begin? Looking to existing patterns and palettes within the room is a good place to start. Take intricate wallpapers such as Morris & Co.’s Strawberry Thief; aligning colour schemes – here, earthen neutrals with pops of pink and blue – and picking out similar prints brings harmony to the space. Once you’ve got a cohesive foundation, play around with different tones and fabrics. Our favourite finishing touch: The Lustred Velvet Alastair Quilt (for a little added luxury).
In our mind, blossoms and blankets are perfect bedfellows. Delight in the delicate? Choose a couple of accents in gentle shades – rose pinks, sage greens, soft blues – and layer them for a vintage-inspired vista. Have a penchant for pattern? Now’s your chance to go wild with bold prints and richer pigments (we love this blue hue). Simply add a velvet cushion or two, plump generously, then sit back and watch the room bloom.
If busy prints aren’t your thing, fear not: some of the most eye-catching bedscapes are built around texture alone. Beyond upping the comfort factor, layering adds visual interest: crisp cottons for freshness, quilted shams for depth and warmth. Experiment with different scales and shapes – a statement pillow here, an embroidered detail there – to create your own tactile treasure trove. All that's left to do? Snuggle down, and cosy up...
