The women of the Embera Village in Panama are known for their detailed weaving traditions including these intricate masks. Traditionally they were used for shaman rituals and can take months to complete. Each mask is handwoven from Chunga palm fibers and dyed with vegetable dyes from the local roots, berries and river silt. Each is one of a kind, has a personality of its own and reflects the weavers personal technique.

House of Nomad, an interior design firm and shop, was founded on the idea that travel fosters the best creativity. They create their signature modern global aesthetic by mixing styles and layering textures and patterns. The co-founders travel to Africa, Indonesia, Mexico and Central America meeting with artisans and sourcing for their shops and interior design clients.
