Dating to approximately circa 1890–1910, this antique copper teapot or coffee pot is a striking example of late Victorian decorative metalwork, combining elaborate engraving with sculptural form.
The body features a gently fluted silhouette that gives the vessel depth and structure while catching light across its vertical panels. Covering the body is full Victorian engraving that wraps entirely around the piece, including an ornate central cartouche framed by scrolling botanical motifs and intricate flourishes typical of the period.
The lid is also engraved, echoing the decorative motifs of the body, and is topped with a traditional heat-resistant finial. The hinged lid allows for easy filling and serving while maintaining the elegant proportions of the piece.
The interior is silver-lined, a traditional finish used in antique copper tea and coffee service wares to protect the copper and make the vessel suitable for brewing and serving beverages.
