Will I be charged duties, taxes or carrier brokerage fees?
Most likely, yes. Duties, taxes and any applicable carrier brokerage fees are not included in your order total at checkout at anthropologie.com.
Carrier brokerage fees will be assessed upon delivery by the postal carrier, and must be paid by the order recipient. Duties and taxes are determined by the customs agency within the destination country. They are based on the value of the order and the tax–free threshold, if it exists, for imported goods. More information can be obtained by contacting your local customs office.
What is a carrier brokerage fee?
Some local postal carriers may charge an additional brokerage fee on orders arriving from outside your country. These charges, if applicable, are assessed upon the delivery of your package by the postal carrier, and must be paid by the order recipient. Please contact your local postal carrier for more information.
Please note that these fees are neither calculated, nor imposed, by Anthropologie, and will not be included in your order total at checkout. Carrier brokerage fees are nonrefundable.
When can I expect my order to ship?
Most in–stock items ship within 24 hours of ordering; however, some orders may take up to 48 hours to process. Please note that we do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays or US holidays.
Orders may be split across multiple shipments, and items ordered together may not be shipped out on the same day. Occasionally, items may be out–of–stock or backordered. You will be alerted in both instances, and in the event of a backorder, will be provided an approximate date of shipment. You will be informed if an item is backordered when you add it to your basket or within ten days of placing your order.

Can I cancel or modify my order before it ships?
Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes, including cancellations, to orders after they have been submitted.

How will I know when my order has shipped?
You will receive an email notification confirming shipment (be sure to check your spam folder). Please note that items are only charged to your selected method of payment once they have shipped.
If items in my order ship separately, will I be charged extra?
Anthropologie will not charge any extra shipping and handling fees. The fee quoted at checkout will be prorated and applied based on the value of each individual shipment.
Multiple packages may, however, be subject to additional carrier brokerage fees if your order ships in multiple packages. These are determined by your local postal carrier, and must be paid by the order recipient.
What does it mean if an item is backordered?
If you place an order for an item that is not available for immediate shipment, it will be backordered. You will be informed if an item is backordered at the time you add it to your basket, or within 10 days of placing your order. You will also be given an approximate date of shipment.
You will not be charged for backordered items until they leave the US. Please note that your method of payment may be charged in your local currency at an exchange rate selected by the issuing bank at the time of shipment, and may also include foreign transaction fees. These are not determined by Anthropologie, and are not included in your order total at checkout.
In the event that a backordered item is part of your order, we reserve the right to cancel the item or ship your order in multiple packages. If an item is cancelled from your order for any reason, you will not be charged for the item.
Can I ship an item to a store?
Unfortunately, items ordered through anthropologie.com cannot be shipped to Anthropologie stores.
Do you ship to PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses?
Yes, we ship to PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses. Orders shipped to PO boxes are sent via USPS Priority Mail. Overnight and express delivery are unavailable for these destinations.
Returns & Exchanges
What is Anthropologie’s return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please let us know so we can help. All merchandise—with the exception of furniture and other oversized items—may be returned at any time by mail or to our stores in the US and Canada. Please note, however, that items returned to a Canada store are not eligible for a refund of duty and taxes. To receive a refund of duty and taxes from your local customs office, your items must be shipped back to the US or returned in a US store. Click here for more information on duty refunds.
Furniture and other oversized items are only eligible for shipment to addresses within the contiguous US, and may be returned within 30 days of the date of delivery. Click here for more information on furniture returns.
Any shipping fees associated with making returns are the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded.

If I mail a return, when will I be refunded?
A refund will then be credited back to your original method of payment, and will post approximately two days after the date of processing. All anthropologie.com orders will be refunded in USD in the method of payment used at the time of purchase, and converted at the exchange rate selected by your issuing bank. It may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly credit card statement.
Can my return be refunded in the form of a gift card?
Yes, it most certainly can. If you make a return in–store, let the store associate know your preferred method of refund. If you are making a return by mail, please write “refund in the form of a gift card” on your return form. Your purchase will be refunded in the form of an egift card, issued via email.
Please note that items purchased in USD are ineligible to be refunded in the form of a gift card in Canada stores. These items will be refunded to the original method of payment.
Are duties, taxes or carrier brokerage fees refundable?
While carrier brokerage fees are nonrefundable, you may be eligible to receive a refund of duty and taxes from your local customs office if you use one of the following return methods:
- Pack up your return and mail it to the address listed here. Be sure to obtain proof of export from your postal carrier, as this will be required by your customs office.
- You will receive an email confirmation when your return is received; be sure to keep this as proof of return.
- Contact your local customs office for information on obtaining a refund.
In a store:
- Bring your return to a US store, along with the original packing list.
- Be sure to keep your new receipt. This will serve as proof of return and proof of export, and will be required by your customs office.

Why is my card being declined when I try to place an order?
This is likely because we could not obtain an authorization from your credit card company. You may wish to contact the issuing bank of your credit card regarding this matter, and then inform us of any additional information.
We will keep your order on file for 48 hours before it will be cancelled. Please respond quickly; merchandise cannot be held for your order and may become unavailable.

How do I use a promo code?
Promo codes may be entered at the final stage of checkout. In the right–hand column, below Discounts and Promotions, click Enter a Promo Code and enter the code. Only one promo code may be applied per order.

Why can’t I check out on the Anthropologie mobile app?
Unfortunately at this time, our mobile app can only process orders shipping within the US. To place an order shipping outside the US, please visit anthropologie.com.
Why am I being asked to remove items from my basket?
Due to size and customs restrictions, some items available for sale in the US are not available for shipment outside of the US. This includes select beauty products, furniture and other oversized items. You may also be asked to remove items from your cart that are low in inventory and cannot be guaranteed for shipment.
What do I do if I can’t find my e–gift card?

Where can I use my gift card or e–gift card?
Gift cards and e–gift cards can be redeemed online or in US and Canada stores in the currency in which they were originally purchased. For example, gift cards purchased in CAD may only be redeemed in Canada stores, as anthropologie.com does not currently accept Canadian currency.
