There's kind of something for everyone, here. First, the style of this tank is pretty much universally flattering. The scoop neck isn't too low, but low enough that it will flatter everyone from the AA cup gal to the busty, hourglass figure (trust me, my bestie and I fit into both those categories we both stocked up on this tank!) That's rare in any garment, especially a basic tank.
The slightly wider straps are somewhat bra friendly and the knit is sheer (white needs a skin tone bra under it for sure) but not too sheer. Another plus is that these are light enough to layer without bulk, too.
Cut slimmer, these are relatively TTS so if you want a boyfriend fit, you should probably size up. The nice thing here is that the scoop neck and the armholes aren't typical boyfriend fit, so even if you do size up, you probably won't have to worry too much about showing the world your side-bra.
They wash well, don't shrink and I can only think of one thing wrong with them....
They have an interesting "one seam" strap where the only real seam at the shoulder straps is one one side only. That seam is a bit thick and can force that particular shoulder strap to twist. I noticed that some have a thicker, bulkier cut seam than others so I picked through my size to find the least bulky and that seems to make a difference. Obviously, if you order online, you don't get this luxury.
Also, just an FYI, the pink shown as a muted pink online is super hot, fluorescent pink in person. Adorable and on trend with skinny crops or layered with a white tank for summer, but if you're not expecting that color, it could be a shock. (Shocking pink??) :)
Bottom line: Nearly universally flattering, hard wearing basic tank with great color selection.

This is a beautiful, inexpensive, great fitting, well made tank top. It has a flattering fit, and is perfect to wear while gardening for ultimate sun (which is what I bought it for) I picked this up in the black and the wine color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by planetqueen fit varies by color; love the red!
I had this tank on my wishlist in the red and the purple in XSP, which is what I wore in the previous incarnation of the Basic Layering Tank. I happened to see the red in the store in size S and decided to try it. Glad I did because it fit perfectly - the XSP would have been much too small. The red tank is made of thicker material than the purple (which I also tried), and was very snug across my 32DD chest. The fit through the body was relaxed, and it wasn't too long (hit at low hip). I wanted the red one to wear to yoga class, so I went ahead and bought the regular S. The purple, on the other hand, was much larger and longer, and the fabric was thinner. I liked it as well, but would definitely need the XSP in it. I wonder if the fabric is different in the prints vs. the solid colors? I did notice the same issue with the single shoulder seam that another reviewer mentioned. It's a little annoying, but not enough to return the top. Overall I really like the red one, it's comfortable and cute for yoga. I'd recommend trying this one on if you can, since there are differences in the way the different colors fit.
