Rated 4 out of 5 by beautiful fabric but weird fit i'm 5'8" with an hourglass figure (36-28-38). i usually wear a 6-8 in dresses, and i ordered an 8 since i was skeptical of the 4-10 sizing scale. i have a long torso, and the dress is short waisted on me, which tends to make me look like a little girl. the waist is also too big, while the shoulders and arms are tight on my average frame. i am tempted to size down to a 6, but i'm not sure i could get my arms in! i'm testing this out with a belt before i make a final decision about whether or not to keep it. the dress is beautiful otherwise. the fabric is obviously high quality and i love the subtle pleats at the neckline and waist. the colors really pop against the black. overall it has a pretty vintage vibe. i wish it fit me better--it would be an easy decision to keep it! Rated 4 out of 5 by Stunning fabric, fit may not be for everyone Even though this dress is way out of my clothing budget right now, I love the fabric so I went ahead and got it when the size 10 came back in stock. The fabric is truly beautiful but I definitely found the fit off for me - the waist was huge and there was a lot of extra fabric in the back. I had an 8 sent for comparison. The 8 was still a little big in the waist but doesn't look ridiculous. As another reviewer said the waist seam does "smile" but if you feel the need to wear a belt to bring in the waist it looks fine - the pattern is busy enough that you don't notice the seam going up on the sides. I actually found the arms in the 8 to be a little close fitting for my preference. The arms on the 10 fit like the model picture, but the 8 is an exact fit for my not overlarge but not super-toned arms. Also, while the 10 fell just below my knee, the 8 falls right above my knee. Overall, I'm going to keep the 8 and try to make sure my arms don't get any larger. The 10 was just too big on me. Here are my measurements for reference 36D-30-40. A note on the sizing (as others have mentioned) - the company uses a sizing system I've never seen overseas or in the US before: 1, 2, 3, 4 which Anthropologie corresponds to 4, 6, 8, 10 respectively so don't get confused if you're sent a 2 instead of a 6. Rated 5 out of 5 by Subtle Statement This dress is really beautiful with many lovely details. Pleating, subtle black on black print fabric, bright floral, and lined so it's not see-through. I'm 5'6", 120 lbs and typically a 2-4, and the 4 fit very nicely. A few things to note: you can't really see this in the picture with the model, but the natural waistline seam goes up a bit at the sides (sort of like the seam is smiling, if that makes sense), and makes it appear more A-line than what is shown (maybe steaming will make it lay flatter against the sides, haven't tried it yet). I would maybe like it if it was a tad shorter, as heels do look best over a flat shoe with this dress I think. Overall, I'm really pleased with it, and it is a beautiful subtle statement dress because of the bright floral print. Great for weddings, showers, etc.! March 26, 2013
