by Nonnie2 Perfect light weight jacket
I bought this jacket and I LOVE it. So surprised at the reviews. It's a casual coat and it's not fitted but I would not describe it as boxy. It's not for serious winter weather but perfect for our milder winters when the chill is coming off the ocean and we have rainy days. It's warm without being heavy and akward to carry should I need to take it off. Sized up to an 8 because the shoulders of my normal 6 seemed to pull just a bit when crossing my arms (like hugging yourself, a must test for all jackets# - 5'7" 136lbs 34b. The wool is a bit scratchy but it's wool so thats not surprising. The lining however is as soft as ever #not that usual poly cheap junk that you find in most coats in this price range) and SO cute. The body of the jacket is lined with a beautiful floral while the sleeves and hood are a pretty satin like fabric that is almost silver. I've received several compliments

I'm baffled by some of the previous reviews so I had to add my two cents. The cut of the coat is really fun and it has an incredible fit. If you are very thin, have slim shoulders or a small bust, this may not be the coat for you. Yes, the coat is a bit scratchy on the outside but I plan out wearing it right-side-out!
I am a bit broader in the shoulders and have a medium-large bust and this was just the coat I was looking for. The coat flatters my curves and provides the perfect level of warmth I need for a place where the temparature barely dips below 30. I am always a size 8 in coats and this fit exactly as expected.

I held off on ordering this coat for months, hoping someone would review it, but finally ordered during the sale since my local store didn't carry it. Unfortunately it's just okay. I ordered my normal size 2 - 5'8", 120 lbs - and the fit is still looser and boxier than I would like. The sleeves/shoulders fit well though so I don't know if I could size down. The wool is on the outside and is quite itchy, as another reviewer noted. The inside is lined but I don't find the coat particularly warm, even for wool. It seems designed to wear a very heavy sweater underneath, which would fill out the extra space I suppose. I think this could have been a winner had it been made in a thick but soft cotton. I may keep it, simply because I'm pregnant and could grow into this throughout the winter but otherwise it would probably be going back.
