I first saw this dress online, and passed it up without looking twice. Then I bumped into it at an Anthropologie, hanging in the dressing room on display, and immediately asked to try it on!
The fabric, though stiff, is a BEAUTIFUL subtle floral print that's actually sheer. The design is printed in a velvety lifted texture, and the chrysanthemums aren't stark white, but looked to be a pale bluish-grey that complimented the overall color of the dress perfectly! The color of the dress somehow appears richer in person that the photo, and in the dressing room (maybe it was the lighting), but I almost saw the dress as a deep burgundy.
The structure of the dress is ever so slightly off from other dresses that I've purchased from Anthro. I'm 5'5" , 110 lbs. and a 34/32A. The sewn-in slip is definitely a nice hassle-free touch, but as the other reviewers stated, does NOT give. I still ended up with the 0, only because the bust was way too loose on me in a 2, but the rib area is a very snug fit. the length is nice and hits me maybe 1/2" below the knee. The skirt does flare out so the silhouette is more feminine, but if you adjust the gathers, it's not huge. The web images are pretty true in terms of flare.
The selling point was having 5 random people walk into the dressing room while I was trying it on and literally stop and stare... "that dress looks amazing on you". Yes two were sales associates (though I don't think they were trying to just sell it from the look on their faces), and the other three were regular customers who then asked to try one on as well... this dress just makes you feel absolutely amazing if you can get over the bust to skirt ratio.
The price is a bit on the high side, but if I were to spend that much on a dress, I wouldn't mind it being this one.

I ordered this in a 2 and ended up getting a 4 in the store--and the 6 fit comfortably as well. My normal size is 0, so I would definitely say this runs small. The top is tight and the dress has no stretch, so if you're busty I would go up a size.
The top is sheer with a black half-slip underneath, and the slip has adjustable straps so you can adjust the fit. I love the pattern, and my only dislike about the dress is that it's very stiff and as such the skirt is very full--almost too full, and there's a stiff petticoat layer beneath the skirt. It poofs out a lot on the sides, and I'm not sure if sitting on it would make weird, pointy crinkles when you stand. Also, the black waistband makes the whole dress look a little cheap. However, it seems well made and like it will hold up over many wears.

 by StephanieJ Lovely Retro Dress
When I first saw this dress, I loved everything about it. Beautiful print - check! Retro style - check! Fitted bodice - check! For reference, I'm 5'3", 125 lbs, 32A bust, 26" waist, and typically a size 0/2 or x-small. I initially tried on a size 2, which is my typical dress size. I was able to zip up the dress, but man oh man, I could hardly breath in it! The bodice was pushing into my ribcage and the armholes were so tight. I initially thought this was a result of the 10 more pounds of baby weight I have yet to lose, but after reading the other reviews online I decided to try the next size up. Ah, much better! The size 4 fit perfectly. None of the other dresses I own are a size 4 - all of them are either size 0 or 2, so I would say this dress definitely runs small. Size up at least one size for sure. What I love most about this dress is the retro fitted-bodice-and-flared-skirt silhouette. This dress is by far one of my favorites!
