Rated 3 out of 5 by If you have pets, don't invest in this rug! I've lusted over this rug for some time and finally purchased it in February. My expectations in look and feel were exceeded. This is a beautiful rug that truly does "make" our living room. We purchased this rug in an 8X10, so it covers a large portion of our small living room. The rug sees use from myself and my husband, plus our two dogs. We don't abuse the rug by any means-- very normal wear. Similar to the situation with another reviewer, within 2 or 3 days of use, the rug began to show serious wear, in that the dog's nails got caught on the wool rug loops and pulled them either into large loops or out to long stranded loops. The rug has a cotton backing, so it doesn't seem possible to repair the rug. I've had to cut the loose loops with scissors to make the rug look decent, and have to do so every week when new wear shows. The product description is right on-- wool loops with cotton backing. I wish I would have thought about this more before purchasing, and that is why I'd like to appeal to pet owners considering this rug. It is beautiful, but just not the right rug for a home with pets. Please consider this before making the investment. April 28, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by sadly must agree with everyone else i read all the other reviews before i purchased the 8x10 of this rug. i hoped that maybe, just maybe, my rug would be different and outlive the poor reviews. but, after two weeks, i have to return it. i've loved the colorful design--- (however, i will disagree with another review, that the colors are not as bright and crazy eclectic as they appear online. all the colors seem toned down in person-- ex. the bright bold red is more persimmon in color.) but the quality is very poor for a $900 rug. very poor. i have been very gentle with this rug, no shoes, nothing dragged, almost tiptoeing across it! and still, after only three days, the first loose thread appeared. and now after two weeks, there are easily over two dozen. yes, i could take scissors and trim them, but they'd remain frayed, and again for $900 you have to expect more. i just can't imagine what the condition of the rug would be like in one year, terrible, i assume. so very reluctantly, it's being returned. wish wish wish that Anthro made this rug better, because the design is so stinkin cute. Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful Rug! I was lucky enough to get the cream version of this rug after it sold out! It is very beautiful and seems well made. It's thinner than a typical wool rug because of the cotton backing but is soft and seems sturdy! I bought the 9x12 floor model and it was in great condition despite what I assume was heavy shoe traffic! I do cut the stray loops once a week but it's worth it! A bit expensive at full price but a steal on sale! My home feels like an english garden! Thanks Anthropologie! October 11, 2013
