Rated 4 out of 5 by Classy and flattering I was invited to the opera (!) last weekend by surprise, and accepted before I remembered I hate everything I own (I can't be the only person this happens to). Ran to the mall with two hours to spare, and grabbed this in Anthro to try on in a mad dash. I was completely surprised by how much I love this! Reading the other reviews now, I probably wouldn't even have tried it on if I'd looked it up beforehand, but I didn't find the dress boxy or unflattering at all. In fact, I think it actually made me look quite slim-- it probably has something to do with where the waist of the dress hits on you, so YMMV. The fabric is the best part, it's soft and the texture gives it something more special than the usual LBD. Because the dress hits (slightly) above the knee and also has an area where it's a bit sheer at the bottom (the under lining is shorter than the skirt) I was worried it would just not work on me, as I almost never wear dresses above my knees, but I was pleasantly surprised. The way the skirt was cut made it still look very classy and elegant. I'm giving three stars for quality because there was one area where a little thread was coming loose at the neckline (I trimmed it) and because it really needs those little bra-keep things in the tank sleeves-- I can't stand tacky bra straps hanging out of an otherwise great dress. I felt so glamorous last weekend, and this weekend I'm wearing to a more business-formal work dinner just paired with different accessories. Love! March 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Disagrees with other reviewers I was hesitant to order this dress because the other reviews were just terrible! However, it looked so darn cute on the model that I ordered it anyway, half expecting to take it back. You cannot imagine how thrilled I was when this dress showed up. I am 5' 6" and a size 8 and a medium fits perfectly on me. The fabric is so soft you'll wish you never had to take it off. Yes, this dress is not a super-sexy form fitting dress. It has a cutesy 50's-esque silhouette with a noticeable flare to the skirt, which I think looks adorable. My advice is to splurge and buy the belt they recommend with it. It helps define the waste and it gives the dress that added bit of sparkle. Seriously guys, ignore the other reviews and give this dress a try! February 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cute colors, but makes you look boxy Loved the navy blue in this dress, bought it to try on at home and unfortunately it's going back. Hard to pull on over your head as waist is tight, but once on, waist hits above natural waist line and the way the skirt flares with addition of lining and lace, adds an inch all around your bodice. This is ok in the chest area, but not flattering anywhere else. It's also pretty short. If you're super tiny, this might work for you, but I'm a size 2/4, 5'7", 125 lbs., athletic build and it made me look like I gained 5 lbs. Not what I'm going for. Too bad as fabric is pretty, loved the color, and it's well-lined and comfortable being jersey material and stretchy lace. January 29, 2014

NAVY Style #:4130209022443 When it comes to the whims of spring, we're on the lookout for easy pieces that are forgiving of the forecast, or in other words, made to layer. Bordeaux's fit-and-flare dress does the trick: add a fuzzy sweater and patterned tights now and your favorite slides and sun-kissed shoulders later. Textured Tank Dress
