I walked into my local anthropologie to find a fun colored dress for the two march weddings that I have coming up. Well, nothing was quite looking right until I tried this baby on. This dress is a soft jersey material (which Bailey brand is known for), the neckline is unique with the offset black and the strips are very flattering. I'm normally a L/XL or 12/14 and the L in this dress gave me curves in all the right places. I hardly ever wear strips because they make me look larger then I already am, but the way the stripes are angled differently over one another gives this illusion and hides all problem areas (mine being my back fat, lol). Other bonus of this dress....It's long enough to wear to work and with the right blazer can be dressed down appropriately, heck, I might even try it with some boots. The anthro associate also suggested that when I get bored with the length and need to mix it up I could always alter it shorter for a more casual look. My only con's would be that I wish it came in a petite version because its a few inches too long but not too long to make me pass. If you are a curvy girl that likes strips, give this baby a go, I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

I am 5' 4" and weigh 110 lbs...small on top, curvy on the bottom. The small fits beautifully. Although some reviews have mentioned the color as being black, it's a very dark navy.
The dress is extremely flattering. It hides my flaws and makes me appear much more shapely than I am. The neckline is pretty...almost has a portrait collar effect. The stripes match along the seams. The raw edges roll a bit, but it's hardly noticeable. The skirt does not impede my long stride when walking.
The Reservation: For a Bailey 44 garment (and for the price point), I would expect the fabric to wear better. It started fuzzing after the first few wears. It's particularly noticeable due to the high contrast of the cream and navy stripes. The dress must be defuzzed all over. Nothing that a sweater shaver can't take care of, but it does take some time.
The Silver Lining: Since the fabric was already fuzzing, I decided to hand wash the garment instead of sending it to the dry cleaner. No fading or shrinking. But the label does say Dry Clean Only. So you must decide if the risk is worth it to you.
Despite the upkeep, the dress is a keeper. I get compliments from women and men every time I wear it.

I purchased this dress based on the other reviews and found it does definitely flatter and is incredibly comfortable! It gave me curves and shape. I wore it to a gala which was black and white in theme and found the dark navy and cream combination was perfect. I also bought the LeifNotes shoes shown in the picture and received tons of compliments all night on the entire ensemble! However, the shoes, which were on sale and are no longer available are not nearly as comfortable as the dress! For reference I am 5'10", 135#, 36A and the size small fit me perfectly. I could not move the sizing slider to indicate it runs large.
