Rated 4 out of 5Â by quinncx easy chemise to wear as a dress
I've been really pleased lately with the plethora of chemises from Anthropologie that make cute dresses, and this textured grey offering is a happy addition to my wardrobe. The complex pleats on the skirt make for a very interesting look and I love the dark grey color as well. The elastic band at the waist is a con- not high enough for my taste and certainly a little on the tight side though this isn't obvious with a cardigan on top. Still if not for the tight waistband, I would be able to wear this dress without a topper which would be more versatile. The neckline is flattering and the chemise is quite comfortable to wear all day even with the stiff elastic. I'm wearing a large which works well for my size 18 apple shape. Definitely a win for my winter wardrobe!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Haligonia good layering chemise
This chemise should be a good investment for me. I plan on wearing it as a layering dress (not on its own), with a print cardigan and belt. The material is substantial enough that you don't need a slip underneath. The top portion is a nice Bordeaux knit, while the skirt has more of a textured, more-synthetic feeling. My one concern was that it would be too short (I believe it said 32 inch for length), but it's goes just above my knee.

I love everything by Bordeaux but had held back on this chemise until the sale price came along. Anthropologie didn't do this little dress any favors in the way it styled it online...with socks?! This is definitely a more substantial chemise and is more of a dress than a loungewear item. The material is substantial and so soft. At 5'4 the length grazed the top of my knee. I understand what another reviewer wrote about the waist -- it's cut a little higher (more like an empire waist) but I think it's actually very flattering and classy looking. Knowing that sometimes this brand has some tighter waistbands I sized up from my usual xs to small and that was a good choice. I'm 115# 34-26-35 for reference. I can see myself wearing this with sandals or flats for a more casual look and with a belt and wedges for work/night out. The detailing on the skirt is really special and makes this an interesting addition to any closet for something easy to throw on that looks quite chic.
