Rated 4 out of 5 by Very bodycon This dress is incredibly body-hugging! I knew from the model shot that it would be a close fit but I was not prepared for how tapered the pencil-shaped skirt is or the way this dress really sits tightly wrapped to my body. I am usually a 6 in Anthropologie dresses but decided to go for an 8 here, and I'm so glad I did. When I took the dress out of its bag I laughed thinking there was no way it would fit over my head! But there is a lot of stretch so I was able to get it on with little trouble. The material is thick and very slippery on the outside while the inside is unlined but a less slippery side of the poly material. I am 5'8" and the dress hits a couple of inches above my knees. When I walk the dress does slide up a bit. I have a short torso so I found the waist sits in the right spot on me. It may sit too high on longer torsos. I wish there was a v-neck on this dress. The high neckline is tough with my 34D bust, though the overall design is lovely. The colors are vivid and brighter than the product images on Anthro's site would have you believe. I love the architectural design of this dress. It's so pretty and I'm thrilled to see something like this at Anthropologie! This dress does suck you in a bit and streamline. For me, a little more give in the skirt would have been nice around the thigh area. Otherwise I'm very impressed. I'm unsure if I will keep this dress or not. I think it's well-made but $300 is a lot to pay for a poly-spandex dress. If you are an hourglass like me or curvy I recommend sizing up. March 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Some good, some bad Beautiful print and nice fit. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the dress is a very snug fit throughout. My only hangup about the dress and ultimately led me to returning it was the price point in relation to the material. The material is polyester spandex and the one I received had a very pungent smell. This dress would be a no brainer in a silk/cotton combination. Once I received it and felt the material, I couldn't keep it. March 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great dress! as both previous reviews stated: it's a lot to pay for polyester; but I'm glad I did. this is such a unique dress & so me, that I decided to keep when I ordered last month. I have a short torso, and the dress fit great, whereas I often need a petite. I am 5'4 & 1/2", 120 lb. ordered a size 4. colors are more vivid than website pic. April 1, 2013

Parsons grad Jen Kao is continually inspired by the contrast between architectural construction and fluid draping, which informs her design philosophy of "easy dramatics." Kao's affinity for experimenting with shape, detail, color and pattern has earned her raves, and her Anthropologie-exclusive collection, Mah Na Mah Na, is steeped in all of the above. This ponte pencil dress is one of our spring must-haves; the vibrant print and sleek shape look great with flat sandals and strappy platforms alike.
