Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Hot Weather Dress For the sale price, I decided this was worth the try and I'm glad I did. The material is super light - perfect for really hot summer days. Although the dress wrinkles more easily then I'd like, I think it will work for those really hot summer days when I have to leave the house, even though I don't want to. Fit: I am normally a six/eight. This is the size six. It fit comfortably on my waist and bust. Girls wit a smaller waist can likely size down. Girls with a larger bust - should probably avoid it all together. So, the two big negatives that most of the reviews mention are the straps and the v-cut. Yes, the straps of the dress run long - but getting them taken in isn't an expensive alteration. I have a longer upper body and may leave them a bit loose - as the dress is fitted enough on my waist/upper body. Yes, the V cut is deep. If you have a larger bust - this dress is likely not going to work for you - however, I added a bandeau bra - and think this makes the dress infinitely more appropriate to wear out and about - but still keeps the cute shape. Yes it might need a bit of work - but I love the colors and shape - so for me, this is a keeper. July 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by really good interesting This dress is not quite the sundress/ work dress that I was expecting. I bought it on sale and the original price was fairly steep, so I was expecting the fabric to actually be much better quality... or at least lined or something... However, it's a pretty standard thin fabric sundress. The cut of the dress is a little bit more slick than the average sundress though. It is very slimming and the plunge of the neckline is edgy and definitely low. This is modern hippy chic. I really do love almost everything about the fit of the dress except the straps. They were too long for me and they are not adjustable. At this price - even with the sale - and especially with the thrifty fabric used too - non-adjustable straps on a low plunging neckline is a little ridiculous... I have a very small chest, but women who are are more curvy up top may actually have more of a problem with this dress than I do... I'm still undecided if I will alter the straps or just return the dress... 125lbs, 5'7", 34B May 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Special I love this beautiful unique ballerina-ish dress! The contrasting prints are really interesting and artistic. A few things about the fit - I got a size 2 and it needed substantial alterations (5'4", 127 lbs. chest size 32 B/C) - top taken in & straps shortened (btw shortening straps is a standard easy alteration and I disagree with the other reviewer who felt that the straps should fit off the hanger - the right strap length will vary significantly for different women and long straps that can be made a custom length for your body is a best case scenario. Adjustable spaghetti straps would be an eyesore on an otherwise precise dress). BTW My tailor is taking in the top from the middle as to avoid making the v neck any wider than it already is. And yes, bottom is somewhat sheer (top is lined). Should be ok but no red underwear. Maaaaybe a slip, depending on what you wear it to. In summary - don't let a couple of alterations scare you off from this dress! It's a gem. Give it a try. Try multiple sizes; you may be a much smaller size than you'd expect. At the sale price + alterations it still way lower than the orig price. June 8, 2013
