Rated 2 out of 5 by It had promise... When I saw it in the store, I loved the classic navy & white combo, slim silhouette, pockets (albeit fake ones) and that it would be a great, versatile dress for my office job. However, the fabric is cheap and the top is cut too narrow (at least for me) so the cap sleeves looked strange sitting too high on my shoulders. Other than that issue, it fit TTS. February 3, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what I thought! I placed my order for a 2 Petite on January 20. It was on backorder and the expected shipping date was pushed back twice! And then after 3 weeks, my order was cancelled. I was very disappointed in having this happened to me twice in less than 2 months! In any case, I ended up ordering the 0 Regular. Let me tell you that there were 3 reasons for disliking this dress. First, the dress worn by the model displays cap sleeves. On me, the sleeves were too narrow, making it look as though I was wearing a tank dress. You could clearly see my armpits when my arms were at my sides. Second, the zipper in the back protruded a bit. It didn't lay flat against my back. To straighten it out, I have to pull on the dress. Now, who wants to be tugging at their dress all day? Lastly, the hem on the back clinged to the back of my legs, whereas the front hem looked just like it does on the model. It was a similar feeling as when you have static on your clothes, but there was no static. As for the positives: Being 5'0", the hem of the regular size did not hit above the knee, rather the hem hit me slightly below the knee, giving it a retro vibe. I am straight from below the waist, so the dress hugged my hips and bottom nicely and wasn't vulgar. I felt as though the dress was creating curves for me. However, from the waist up it was a tad tight in the bust area. I am a 34B and I wasn't bothered much by it, but if you are more conservative, I would size up. I think most women fall on the slightly curvy side, so if you're contemplating buying this, size up at least one size. For those reasons, I have to give this dress a low rating. It was the one Ruby Belle dress I REALLY wanted! I ordered the Marseilles dress, which has a much superior fit! And it was the one I least wanted. Funny how things work out! February 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Loved the style but... Beautiful shape in this dress, if you have curves it's beautiful. However the material left something to be desired and the "pockets" on the front are flaps of fabric, perhaps if they were sewn down it would not have been so bad, sadly it had to go back as a result. There is give to the dress everywhere except at the white waist band. I have hips and a smaller waist and the four was little snug getting on but once i did, perfection. dang flaps...
