by GeoInCalifornia low toe box-size up for comfort-construction issue
I’m confused by the first review. I walked the tile hall at work. The shoes were quiet. I also disagree that the heel shape dates them. If anything, they make them classic. The temps reach 110 degrees in central CA. So I appreciate the diamond shaped perforations that allow for air flow. The slightly flexible hidden platform reduces the heel height to 2 inches, and provides enough flexibility to make these very comfortable.
The leather is soft on top, with added stiff support all the way round. The style is two parts Oxford to one part Spectator. Oxinator! I'm not sure what the checkered heel is wrapped with, but it appears to be tough and doesn't scratch easily. The color choices are feminine. If you collect Chie Mihara's, this is one you DO NOT want to miss.
I winterized my shoes by adding black laces.
SIZE: I normally wear a US 8 or 8.5. My foot is slightly wide to the front, with a low narrow vamp, and narrow heel. Chie Mihara's fit well when I get the size right. The Quefa Oxfords fit perfect in 38. I ordered these in 38 from another site (no 1/2 sizes available). This was a few weeks before they appeared on Anthro's website. This is the reason I shop Anthro. Many of their selections align well with my style.
FIT: I found the toe box height to be tight in the 38's. The width and length were OK. I reordered a 39 and worried they would be too big. The fit is fantastic. Space enough for wiggle room, plus tights or thick socks.
DOWNSIDE: The seam that connects the yellow tongue to the soft perforated Yellow leather that is the top of the shoe is torn through to the first perforation on both sides of one shoe. Please don't pull on the tongue. I don't know if the tears were pre-existing or occurred after I wore them for a 1/2 day. Either way, I have to call this a construction problem and downgrade these marvelous shoes.
I suggest sizing up 1/2 size than normal. If you are at the upper end of your size, or between sizes as I am, then you may find sizing up a whole size will work best for you. At least you have the choice of 1/2 sizes with Anthro.
Extra heel caps and travel bag are in the box as always.

by Xiaosi So happy with them!
I was concerned about the cheap sound the heels made as one of the reviewers had pointed. So after I took these beauties out of the package, the first thing I did was walking on both the tile and wood floor. To my relief, they don't sound any different from any other Chie Mahara's. I don't find the heel dated at all.
I want to say these shoes are TTS, length wise. The toe box feel a bit narrow and a bit low. But the leather is so soft I am sure it will stretch and give a little after a couple wears.

Well this was love at first sight and not a maybe but a definite YES; price was not an issue. It's a bit of a let down now that I have them and I don't know how I feel. I keep trying them on and telling myself I do love them but I don't think I do, sigh!
The good; the quality (leather and construction) as always with Chie Mihara is spectacular and the leather upper design is so much fun! They fit TTS, even a little big but I would stay with your true size! The colors are actually very versatile and work with several items in my closet.
The bad; the heels are much more narrow in real life than online. They are straight up and down and don't curve, dating the shoes. The heels are not solid, they're more of a hollow heel with a checkered screen print and not leather wrapped. Because of the heels being hollow they feel cheap; even worse they sound cheap, like plastic heels. The love affair ended when I walked on my tile floor.
I want these to stand out for their deign, quality and originality not for their noise.
