Rated 4 out of 5Â by FootwearFiend A Beautiful Boot
These boots were just delivered to me and so I wanted to share a few things for future buyers. They appear to be well made with a nice thick rubber sole that should last. They have nice detailing. I love the wooden wedge and fold up top that goes over the knee. However the leather is quite a bit lighter in colour than in the picture...more of light brown than a cognac colour. Size wise they definitely fit a bit small. I am a 8.5 in almost all cases and so I ordered the 39 and they do fit but are snug. I have a narrow foot and would not recommend these for someone with a wide foot. Also, I have very thin legs and usually find that tall boots look ridiculous on me but these are actually just right in diameter.
Lastly, on the negative side I was hit with a $100 duty fee which was rather unexpected so beware if you live in Canada and order these online!
Overall I am happy with these and should get a lot of use out of them!

The color of the boot is actually much lighter and more of a cooler tone than what is shown. I have average-sized calves and I could barely get the boots on over them, even while wearing thin tights. The color of the leather around the toe dissipates into a lighter color, which gives the appearance of a cheap quality.

So I was SUPER excited to receive these boots in the mail. However upon receiving them, I was sorely disappointed. That rich cognac color in the picture is not what you will see upon opening the box and tissue paper. The leather is much, much lighter in color…feels nice and soft, but as I tried to get the shaft of the boot up my leg, I noticed that the leather permanently creases (very deep creases!). I expect this with normal wear, but not after trying on the boots one time. The shaft also does not stay up on my calves after straightening them (with the tops folded down and up). They also look very…"buccaneer-like" with the flap folded down and unintended slouch thing going on. The wedge heel has a cheap looking wood-like varnish and the man-made sole can be found on boots at your local discount shoe store. No shade, but for $300+ the sole needs to be a little more substantial! Overall this boot's price does not justify the splurge. I really wanted to like these but, they will be going back. * sad face *
