Rated 5 out of 5 by MMFF It's just photographed upside down
No bird would peck on a tree upside down, so don't affix this little guy to your door upside down. It is simply displayed upside down in the first photograph. If you hang it the right way, he'll sit with his beak away from the wood and his tail resting against the door, and then you use his beak to tap on the door.
It drives me nuts that this is pictured upside down, Anthro doesn't usually goof up like that! It's really cute in real life though!

by petronella Unique Knocker adds charm!
I have this knocker hanging right-side up. It adds a little charm to our yellow door, especially when it was dark. We have a south facing home so the knocker is in direct sunlight most of the day; I'm not sure if it's correlated or not, but after a month or so I noticed that the knocker is now nearly a light gray/white. Maybe it just needs a polish? It's not exposed to rain/snow or anything, but I figured I'd throw that out there as someone who's had it hanging for about 6 months now.
