I did fall in love with the lamp when it first appeared on the website. However, I put it out of my mind, thinking it was too expensive. Today, I went to Anthropologie store looking for a lamp. They were sold out of the desk lamp I wanted, but then I saw this floor lamp. It stopped me in my tracks. It's so beautiful in person. If you have been hesitating about it, don't.
It is very heavy and sturdy. This lamp will not be falling over, despite a toddler running around it. The lamp has a soothing antique white colour to it, but the details do not get lost.

I had been eyeing this on-line for a while, so the minute one of my floor lamps broke, I immediately ordered this. I am going to keep it (partly because it is too big and awkward to return - I needed to destroy the box and foam packing materials in order to extract it from the box), but have reservations.
Positives: Very, very cute design - eye catching/conversation piece.
Negatives: It is NOT WHITE - no one would call this white. The one I received is almost a putty-color - calling it off-white is a stretch. This is particularly noticeable if you (like me) have WHITE walls. I believe I did see this in an Anthropologie store several months ago and it was a lot lighter; maybe the manufacturer has changed their paint color. The quality is not great - it is not perfectly straight, it has a few blemishes on the paint - not sure if that occured during shipping, and as another reviewer noted, the welding is not perfect. It looks like there is a dip in the two branches where the birds should sit. My birds are not perfectly centered in the dips, so you can see an unpainted section next to each bird.

Ok, I was a bit nervous about ordering this. I am on a grand project right now to upgrade all our lamps from cheap-o simple modern lamps to interesting quality ones and I thought that the Sibley lamp might be a playful addition to our home office that we hope to turn into a nursery one day (but it's not quite time for that yet).
I, like others, balked at the price. But as I began to furnish the rest of our flat with proper lamps and learned just how expensive lamps really are, the price didn't seem quite so outlandish -- still expensive -- just not outlandishly so.
Well...it arrived last night, very well packed I might add -- all the original shipping stamps from India were still on the box making me feel as if this were some sort of authentic find at a market on some world travel-- I was nervous. Would I like it? Would it cheer up our tiny, super dark home office as much I had hoped? So on, so forth...
And it did! I love it so much that I am going to order a second one when I get more money saved. Right now, I have it placed on one side of the modern loveseat we own (the Karlstad from that big Swedish furniture store) and I want to get another one to place on the other side. Above the sofa, we have a picture of Amsterdam...so the addition of this lamp makes the small tiny room begin to take on the feel of traveling abroad as soon as you enter (I also put some assorted Anthropologie throw pillows on the loveseat too).
I will say that my husband isn't in love with the lamp, but he doesn't hate it either. I don't care. I love it so much that I've vetoed his opinion (we generally try to be democratic in our design choices, unless one of us really, really loves something). I am hoping it will grow on him.
I will also say that this lamp is extremely sturdy. I do think it would handle a rambunctious toddler fine if you are thinking about adding it to a nursery.
Looking at this lamp gives me little flutters of happiness. It's fun and whimsical without being trite or tawdry. It's quite beautiful too.
As another reviewer has noted, the color is not a bright white. It's more of a deep cream, beigey color. I do like how it counterbalances our mostly modern, inexpensive furniture.
