Rated 3 out of 5 by review after time I am writing this review after owning this hook and using it for about a year. first off, I agree with other reviewers that there is an issue in the design which is even if you attach this thing securely to the wall it has a tendency to move back and fourth easily when you put something on it. This is annoying because the finish on it leaves marks on the wall. little black marks.I also agree with others that I wish it had a bit more weight to it- since it is rather expensive for a hook. I ignored all these things and used the hook for about a year because it looked so cute in my bathroom. Over this time it got very little wear- I would hang light weight bathrobes on it or little chemises. But now- the hook is completely trashed even with so little wear. The metal is coated in some kind of very delicate finish that does not hold up very well at all, and the whole thing is now covered in little gouges and scrapes where the finish is failing. It doesn't look like the pretty silver octopus it once was. I am quite upset- if I pay this much for an item like this I expect it to last a lifetime- at least last more than a year with only light wear. I would advise you, even though it is cute, and unique- hold off on this one. Maybe if there is a redesign with new materials it would be worth while or maybe another octopus hook will pop up on the net. No one wants to pay top dollar on a flimsy product that ultimately does not stand the test of time. Be warned. March 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect addition to the kitchen My wife shops at Anthro but I've always loved the aesthetic of the Anthropologie stores. I've been eying this piece for awhile and decided to finally buy it for my kitchen. I read the reviews most of which are in regards to how it doesn't mount to the wall properly. I suspected that it just wasn't being hung correctly... and I was right. Don't expect to hang this on a nail, yes it will swivel. I used a molly and phillips head screw. The screw head fits perfectly into the notch on the backside and is ridiculously snug--even with pressure the octopus does not move or swivel. Took me about two minutes to install--looks great! We use it for our aprons. January 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the coolest hook! I bought it for my son's room and it looks amazing! It is very sturdy and can hold a variety of items, but also looks great with nothing hanging on it. Expensive, but worth it! May 4, 2010
