Rated 3 out of 5 by KellyTurquoise Insufficient hardware
The spindle that comes with this set is too short (only 3-1/2") for many doors (mine is 1-3/4" thick) and the set does not have standard U.S. threading. My local hardware store couldn't match the threads so I had to go to a locksmith shop to find a replacement--and it was quite an effort for them to go through the bins to find a match. Be prepared to do additional work for this if you are planning to use on a door that is more than 1-1/4" thick.

At $42, for this knob not to come with hardware is completely unacceptable and disappointing. Unless you are just a person with ample time on your hands to fiddle with tracking down hardware to fit, save your time and money. It really adds up!

Although beautiful and well made, this knob is absolutely useless. It does not fit into a normal door, and it does not even have the necessary hardware (such as a latching mechanism) that is essential for any knob. You cannot replace a knob with this knob unless you already have antique door knobs in your house. If you have a regular house, that is, that was built within the last century or if you have a house that has newer doors and knobs (like since the 1960's) then this knob will NOT work for you. Do not even bother buying it. You'll just have to pay return shipping to send it back.
I thought the other reviewers on here were being silly when they said essentially the same thing... but folks, it's TRUE. this knob is useless unless you ALSO want to invest lots of time and money into buying the other pieces that are necessary to actually install it.
I say: SHAME on anthropologie for selling a knob at this price that cannot be installed into a standard door. It's misleading, and it makes me kind of mad. It would not be hard for them to manufacture these knobs so that they could be switched out with the standard knobs that 99% of people have in their homes.
I don't know about you, but when I pay $42 for a knob, it sure better fit into my door without having to research and purchase antique hardware.
Seriously, save your self the trouble and do not buy this or any other of the DOOR knobs from anthropologie.
