Rated 3 out of 5 by Lovely Design, but Dyes Bleed Let me start by saying how much I really do love the design on this duvet. It's colorful, yet traditional with its Native American style embroidery. I had hoped to have this for a very, very long time. And given the price point, that should have been the case. Unfortunately it came out of the packaging smelling like a permanent marker. Which is a smell I quite like on occasion, but not to sleep in. So I followed the washing instructions and threw in a bunch of color catchers bc I was worried it was the dyes that stunk. Looks like I was right. Upon removal from the dryer, the duvet and euro shams came out all wrinkled - which I expected bc it's linen. What concerned me were yellow blotches all over... well... everything. The black and pink dyes did not appear to have bled. Only the yellow/green dyes. When you spend $468 for a duvet + $150 for shams that is unacceptable. It's all going back. August 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gorgeous embroidery! I'm so glad I didn't let the negative review stop me on this one!!! Like the other reviewer mentioned, this did have a bit of an India dye smell when I first took this out of the package. It was gone within an hour or so, though, and I couldn't smell it at all after that. Definitely a non-issue. It's also dry clean only, too, so I'm assuming that's why the other review had problems with the color bleeding. The embroidery on this is so beautiful that I would never dare put it in the washer. I use it at the end of my daughter's bed with a quilt as her main blanket, though, so getting it dirty won't really be an issue. This really is so stunning and unique IRL--I definitely recommend it! Rated 4 out of 5 by lovely, smells odd at first. Yes, it smells odd at first. hanging out the backyard for a few days airs it out. It's dry clean, which was a bummer when I bought the matching bedskirt, and the cat got so excited when we took the bed apart to put it on he peed on the duvet cover. SO, they have yet to be on the bed at the same time. nice heavy linen, gets softer with use.... August 30, 2012
