Rated 5 out of 5 by Airy I admit, living in the Boston area as a I do, I'm likely going to have to wait awhile before this dress is weather appropriate. That being said, I'm pretty excited for that day to come. I will say that it isn't the most fitted sort of dress- it's somewhere between being shift-like and fit & flare, with less fit. I liked this because it's very simply different than most of the dresses in my closet, which are your more typical Anthro super girly fit & flare numbers. This has a different kind of feel to it, with a looseness through the waist and then the slightly kicked out skirt. What takes it from being a little boring is the combination of fabrics and the delicacy of the overall appearance. The layers are well done, and it's certainly not sheer, something one can be concerned with when wearing white. It's also not as heavy as many of the standard lined dresses one can find, which means that it will be perfect for super hot days and travel. It seems to me that the materials will also pack really well- it came literally folded into this strangely tiny bag and popped out with very few wrinkles. The nearly meshness makes it very much a day dress, but it can be made strictly casual with larger, chunkier necklaces, or a little dressier with more delicate pieces. The ruffled hemline is a sweet addition to a dress that is otherwise very modern. Overall, this dress is beautifully thought out and constructed. It might be actually more flattering on a leaner body type than mine, but I feel like the slightly dropped waist still fits loosely around a place on my hips that makes it casual and cool looking, rather than wide. The length is also perfect for any summery activity, from bike riding to just avoiding the heat. May 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by So close and yet just far enough... This dress is super cute and beautifully designed--the details are just lovely, but the material is very stiff and yet really delicate all at the same time. The way that the dress fits when you put it on isn't nearly as relaxed as it appears in the pictures, so it kind of tents outward away from the bust--I didn't try it on with a belt, so maybe that would've fixed the problem, and perhaps the fabric will settle over time/with wearings. I typically wear a 4/6 in dresses and got a small in this one, and the shoulders/bust felt a bit tight (and for reference I'm a 34A cup, but fairly broad shoulders) so my girls felt smushed and the rest of the dress felt too blousy. It was utterly shapeless, and the netting-type details didn't seem like they would hold up to lots of wears. Sending it back because I thought it would be an easy, casual throw-on type of day dress, but neither the shape nor the fabric were giving me what I wanted, though it might be perfect for you! Rated 5 out of 5 by very airy and light this dress wears exactly as it appears on the model. it flows away from the body and is quite airy (although the fabric is a little stiff). it isn't really a dress that will flatter the figure (and it isn't meant to be). all in all, i'd recommend this dress if you're looking for a cool, loose-fitting dress for summer. the one downfall is that it requires dry cleaning. IVORY Style #:27653187 A Made In Kind design.

Twin sisters and design partners Daphne and Vera Correll incorporate a world's worth of artisan techniques - from Japanese shibori dyeing to Peruvian strap weaving to North German blueblock printing - into their clothing. For this Anthropologie-exclusive collection, they ventured outside their Manhattan studio and drew inspiration from the sun-bleached, summer-worn fabrics of New York City's beaches. We can almost feel the rays in this gauzy patchwork tank dress.
