Despite a dubious blend of wool and acrylic, this cardi is beyond soft and cozy. It's also hand washable. I could wrap myself up in this every single day. But not yet. It's still 90 degrees out.
SIZE: I usually wear a Small in Anthro Brand sweaters. TTS! I bounced between ordering a Petite or Regular size Small. Petite won because there were only a few left, and it was obvious the sleeves in Regular would be excessively long for my short arms. I'm 5'5" tall, 135 lbs, a busty 34D, 35-29-36, with narrow shoulders. .
FIT: Boxy and seriously widening across the front. The Petite is almost 2 inches shorter than the Regular. The regular won't add enough length to make a difference. The fabric clings, so there is no drape.
DETAILS: The floral design is hand embroidered and incorporated into the knit of the sleeves and insets.
Impressive Anthro! I wish the fit had received as much thought. Here's a few ideas that might help.
1. Wear the Cardi as a bolero over a fitted tunic or tailored dress. The additional length will elongate in the middle. This won't work as well for busty gals.
2. Wear the sides of the Cardi pushed back under the arms, instead of wrapped forward over the chest. It will improve the fit from both front and side.
3. Use a large safetly pin to hold the front together. It won't help much to reign in the bulk from the front. But it's a nice improvement from the side.
4. As suggested by another reviewer, try a belt over. I've never had success with belting over this much bulk, except to come away looking like a doughy powder puff.
I looked down and laughed. One pompom was poised directly over each of my girls.
HA! That's two too many issues for me.
If you're determined to make this sweater work, you're in luck. The pompoms are tied on from the back so easily removed.
I might consider on sale. But for now, I talked and photographed my way out of this one.

When I saw the beautifully embroidered sleeves I snatched this one up on the way to the fitting room with me. I grabbed a large to accomodate my bust (34E).
The large fit my arms fine and fit my bust comfortably as well but man, this sweater just looked SO bulky. It wasn't flattering at all. I'm 5'3 and found the sleeves ran a little long. But the main issue for me was this: I have an hourglass shape but in this sweater you couldn't tell with the extra chunk it added on, likely from the thick knit and the extra cable and pompon detailing. It doesn't look so bad on the model in the picture because she's turned sideways, but I have a feeling if you saw her head-on she would look 10 pounds heavier. DEFINITELY try this on before purchasing.

I overlooked this sweater in the catalog but stopped in my tracks when checking out the New Arrivals online. This piece is just as stunning in person as it is online, if not more so.
I have no complaints about the length of the sleeves (they fall to the bottom of my fingers) as I am a tall XS, so the sleeves are actually long enough. There isn't one ounce of itch to this fabric; I was worried about because wool tends to be a four letter word for me.
My only wish would be for it to either have a snap or button closure option with a little overlap of material so that it would have a closer fit, but I will use a brooch if I want a more structured look.
This pays homage to Anthro's old school beauties. I don't think it'll make it to the sale section.
