Rated 4 out of 5Â by sfshoegirl Beautiful skirt, runs large
In the season of endless striped maxi skirts and dresses, I knew once I saw this skirt that it was The One. The chevron pattern of alternating thin and thick stripes gives it a more elegant, refined air than some of the more basic striped skirts out there. FYI, the base fabric color is more of a dark cream/ecru and not as white as it appears in the photo - be forewarned. The fabric drapes beautifully over the hips and rear and is fabulously flowy on the bottom - just what you want in a summer maxi skirt.
Unfortunately, on to some of the less happy points: The skirt runs large for me. I am about 5'-5' and the XS came to several inches below my feet. I would not be able to wear this with flat sandals. The fabric is very comfortable and stretchy but that means I can't pull it up any higher as it will simply slip back down. You could roll the waistband over but that resulted in an unflatteringly bulky midsection area for me. I believe the raw unfinished hem is meant so you can trim it to the desired length, which might be ok except the entire skirt just seems a little too big for me in general. Another reviewer mentioned you could wear it as a dress - lengthwise it would probably work better for me that way, but I would like to wear this as a skirt.
Also, although I love the pattern, the stripes do not line up at either the center or side seams. Again, for a skirt of this price I would expect a little more attention to detail. I am not sure whether the skirt edges will fray or the material pill over time, but initially the fabric is quite soft and pleasing to the touch. If it ever went on sale these small issues would be easy to overlook.
Ultimately I had to return it because of the size issues, but if it had been made a bit smaller I probably would have tried to make it work. Such a pretty skirt!

Long, comfy & cute! Fabric edge is raw -- no hem... I'm hoping it doesn't unravel. So far, so good!

For 2/3 the price, this skirt would be perfect. It is very flattering and falls well. However, everything made of this material falls well, and this skirt doesn't even have a hem at the bottom. It simply isn't unique in any way, and so I consider it way overpriced.
My order was true to size. I am leggy, so it was not too long, but I sent it back because there was nothing special about it to warrant spending $90.
