Rated 3 out of 5 by A Thrown Together Hybrid of the Fab Wren! The unique color blocking on this top caught my attention. This top is cut similar and of the same fabric as the Wren Top (I purchased 4) also by Bordeaux. But that is where all similarities end. SIZE: I’m 5’5” tall, ~ 130 lbs, 34D, 29” waist, small hips, and short arms. I would be Petite if not for my long torso. I ordered this top in size Small, since the Wren Top in Small fit my proportions perfectly. In the non-Anthro world I’m sometimes a Medium. Bordeaux is not an Anthro brand. FIT: This top runs 2 sizes larger than what you would normally wear in non-Anthro brands. The size Small was baggy and shapeless. Since my hips are small (36”) I could have sized down to an XS. The construction was so poorly done that the underarm of one sleeve was lower than the other. The hemline was tunic length on me. The top is cut straight up and down. I don’t see this working well for Pear shaped gals. The hemline on the top half of the shirt is cut straight, while the bottom half is a shirt tail. The combination is wrong together. It reminds me of a loin cloth or when a football player tucks a towel into the front of his pants below his jersey. The piping around the neckline was poorly sewn and too wide. I can’t help compare this to the Wren and the obvious care and attention that went into the piping and inset details. The sleeves were 6 inches too long, and so loose they would not stay pushed up my arm. I’m not sure why this top is priced higher than the Wren. Poor construction certainly does not warrant a higher price tag. FABRIC: This is the same synthetic blend that gives the Wren Top it's fabulous drape. The difference is this fabric is heathered and not smooth, while the sizing is so big there is nothing to drape against. If you love the top don’t worry about the hand wash instructions. Machine wash inside out in a net wash bag in cold water. Then lay flat to dry. I treat all my washable Anthro this way. Your clothing will appear new and last longer. I don't recommend this at full price. The design and construction are poor. The entire affair appears thrown together on the fly, perhaps as a replacement for the Wren Top that is selling out full price in some colors. On sale, this top could make an unflattering but comfy lounging around the house top. But I’ve seen better. December 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is one of those pieces that looks better on the hanger, in my opinion. I love the idea, and the color and fabric combinations, but when I tried this on in my usual size large, I thought the top was too snug through the hips, it is straight instead of an A-line cut, so it didn't flow like it does in the photo.. I also think the shorter front layer is too short. It just looked odd on me which was disappointing. December 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant way to relax I tried on this shirt in January and wasn't persuaded that I would wear it often enough-- usually I buy things at Anthro. to wear to work or to special events. However, the plum colors really drew me, and now I do have one hanging in my closet. I like how soft the fabric is, although I would love it even more with the addition of a natural fiber. And the color contrast of knit and poly are clever. After reading the reviews, I realize that there may be some differences in the batches of sizes. (This has happened with other pieces at Anthro-- one Small is too small, but the other Small is a more relaxed fit.) Normally I am small/ med./ 6 or 8 in tops and blouses, but with this one, I wanted more shape, less billow, so I bought the X-Small which is very unusual for me. Interestingly enough, the bottom hem is fine around my hips/bum, which is where I am a bit more well-endowed. For ref, 5'8", 135 lbs, 34-B. It may be worth trying on several of the same size, to see if something matches up better. One added note: the back-tail does not seem inclined to wrinkle even after sitting on it, which is a plus in my book. March 14, 2014

Size Guide

How to Measure

Bust

Measure under your arms at the fuller part of your bust. Keep tape level across your shoulder blades.

Natural Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Drop Waist

Measure around your body 1 1/2" below your natural waist.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Inseam

Using a pair of your pants that fit well, measure from crotch seam to bottom of leg.

Rings

Wrap a length of string around your finger and mark where the end touches. Measure the distance between the end of the string and the mark you've made to determine what size to order.
