Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfection for a mere $48! Bordeaux blew me away with this gem!!!! SIZE: I'm usually a Small for Anthro brands like Deletta, and a Medium for non-Anthro brands like Bordeaux. I'm 5'5" tall, ~130 lbs, 35-28-36, 34D, short arms, narrow across shoulders, with long torso, and a slowly shrinking spare tire. Yay! I look for styles that de-emphasize my chest, are tailored so as not to look like a tent, and can cross over from work to weekend. This top met my expectations with only a few small concerns. Since slouchy isn't flattering on my proportions, I sized down to a Small Regular in the Moss/Peach. Lucky guess! Stick to your normal non-Anthro size if you prefer the slouchy fit on the model. FIT: Front and back slightly longer than the sides. The front ends just past my zipper, but looks longer on the model. This may suggest length increases as you size up. The regular length is listed as 24". Mine measured in at 23.5". The long sleeves extend past the tips of my fingers. I pushed them up and didn't have to fuss with it. The top is fitted through the chest with enough play to drape around my mid section. The hemline doesn't ride-up when standing, but sometimes needs to be straightened. The only snag for me is the boatneck. Since my shoulders are narrow, my bra straps show. A few stitches will remedy the problem. FABRIC: Cotton can't provide a fit this good. The super stretchy, unholy synthetic blend (acceptable for cooler months) has fantastic staying power. The material is thin, but not see-through. I layered a cami underneath to combat high beams. I plan to machine wash inside out, on delicate in a lingerie bag, then lay flat to dry. If you get a grease stain on this, you better get it out immediately with cold water. It can be dry cleaned if you prefer. I don't see pulls or pills being a problem. But watch sharp jewelry. Lint from sweaters will stick. DETAILS: All hems and inside seams are finished. Construction is impeccable for a mere $48. I would have passed on this in solid colors. What drew me in were the abundant two-tone selections, along with the piped seams and side insets. These alone set this top apart. The fantastic easy fit is the cherry on top. Recommended! How can I ding for synthetics when in this case it works in so many ways? Size down from your non-Anthro size for a sleek fitted look. Stay with your true size for a loose easy fit. If you have narrow shoulders, bra straps will show. May need to layer against high beams. My tired, worn out Molded and Melded Tees are about to meet their replacements. November 20, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nope ;( Such high hopes for this top, I love the easy look and the fun contrast stitching but it was NOT a fit for a pear like myself. I'm usually a solid Large at Anthro but this one did not fit over my hips- the stitching at the bottom doesn't stretch so it was a weird and tight, not at all flowy as shown. I tried and XL and that didn't work either- it was then too big across the shoulders/bust and still clingy at the bottom. The XL fit over my hips but stuck too close to the body and I could see every bump from my jeans through the shirt. Ugh! It is definitely a straighter cut shirt. If it was more A-line it would be a winner. Too bad! Seemed like good quality especially for the price! December 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Adorable and flattering In person, this is SUCH a cute top. I ended up buying the burgundy/dark pink combo and it is such a great, saturated color. But having seen all the colors in person, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The top is very TTS, the fabric is sooo soft and skims over curves without clinging to them. The wide neck is low enough to be flattering even to those with a larger bustline or very broad shoulders. The arms are in proportion and not too long. The cute little insets at the shirt-tail hem are cute and floaty and they lay just right. Bottom line: Nice fabric, good TTS fit that would probably flatter a variety of body types and cute color combos. Perfect little layering top that could be dressed up or down and has a little bit of interest without being too fussy or over-styled. November 25, 2013
