by GeoInCalifornia High Peplum! Navy not Black! Unfinished!
I think of a jacket as having structure. This one has none.
SIZE: I ordered my usual size Small Regular (4-6) for Anthro brand sweaters like Rosie Neira. I take a Medium (8) for Non-Anthro brands. Rosie has been known to be inconsistent in sizing. I’m 5’5” tall, 130 lbs., 34D, 35-29-36. I’m curvy on top with short arms, narrow round shoulders, and long torso.
FIT: This is TTS if you have the right proportions. Do NOT size up if you plan to layer under. The proportions are all wrong for my curvy on top shape. The sleeves are too long (normal for me) and bordering on baggy. The peplum is too high and wide for my long torso and smaller hips. Once again, the cut for regular is closer to Petite, except for the sleeves. The torso and chest are fitted so I can’t size down. Perhaps this would work for curvy on bottom or hourglass shapes. The length is mid hip on me, which is appropriate for my height. Too bad the peplum starts so high up. If you have a high waist and are between 5’3” and 5’5”, this might work. You could size down if you run small through the chest and torso.
FABRIC & COLOR: The color is Navy, not black as the description read when I wrote this review. This is incredibly stretchy boiled wool that is dry clean only. The wool is thin, floppy, and offers no structure and very little warmth. The collar made me itch where is touched my neck. The fabric in general is unappealing.
DETAILS: Only the cuffs are hemmed. The placket and hemline are double layers of wool, and are double stitched at the edge, but are not actually hemmed. The collar is a single layer. The edges are jagged in places as unfinished wool often is. There are no pockets. The top layer of the flower detail is ivory netting. The base layer is heathered wool that is beige to tan in color. The two pieces are pleated to give the drooping flower a pop effect. The appliquéd vines are moss green. In my opinion they look more like deer antlers than vines. They are machine applied. The buttons are very common looking and plastic. The extra is sewn to an inside tag.
I love the unique Anthro design, but the proportions are all wrong for my curvy on top shape. This isn’t going to be a universally flattering fit for all. My opinion is… wait for sale, unless it’s an absolute must have. Quality and construction should have been better when compared to the price tag.
I wish Antho wouldn't require reviewers to make a recommendation. In this case, there are too many nuances involved for a yes or no answer. To simplify, I will say that at full price the answer is no.

I just love this jacket. It has all of the details and elements that made me love Anthro so many years ago. The appliqued stem and leaves are so graceful, and the way the flower is presented is just lovely. The flower has a sheer netting over it and has a 3-dimensional pop. I got a size M, which is my normal size in sweaters due to m 36C bustline. On me, the fit is perfect, and allows for me to wear a thin layer underneath. The jacket is a thinner boiled wool that is perfect for California cool days, but for those in more chilly areas, this is a nice layer under your coat. I love that it's slightly fitted. Lastly, it is most definately NOT black as stated, it's navy blue for sure. I can't wait to wear it!

This was the best thing I think I have purchased from Anthropologie all year, & I buy a lot.. Very well made. I'm sure this will go fast. From the Fabric to the Stitching it was %100 awesome. This item will go with countless articles of clothing in my closet. I would of loved it a bit longer, (as I am long waisted ) - but if I drop 8 pounds it won't matter. It really is a great item for fall/ winter/ spring/ summer. If you buy this item you will NOT be disappointed.
