by AFWinslow My favorite office wear piece ever
I had high hopes for this jacket, and they have almost all been fulfilled. I'm a size 14/16 with an exaggerated hourglass shape, especially in the bust, and usually when I wear a blazer I'm either drowning in a box of fabric or I look like a stuffed sausage. If you can relate, give this blazer a try.
The beauty of this shape is that it is so different from the generic blazer silhouette. It's cut high in the back, so it shows the taper of my waist - rather than the typical long hem with a slit that is tugged wide enough to split practically. In the front, there are no buttons at all, thank goodness! They usually never hit the right point on my torso, and when I do try to button normal blazers I'm so cinched in that instead of looking demure my chest is *more* prominent. So embarrassing. Again, this blazer avoids that problem altogether with its long lapels and deliberately open design. As a bonus, the curving hem on the front offers hip camouflage.
As I said, I'm almost perfectly happy - the shoulders are a bit tight for me, and of all of my body parts my shoulders are not normally the ones that seem too big, so others might want to take that into consideration.
Otherwise, I love it. The fabric is absolutely luxurious. I chose the blush color, since I work in a creative industry, and the sweet peachy shade is the icing on the cake. This is officially my favorite suiting piece I have *ever* purchased, and I'm so glad to see that Anthro has added four or five more pieces in a similar silhouette!

I got to try this on earlier this week at Anthro - it was one of the items I wore in the fall fashion show my store had (thanks so much for including me!) It's a very flattering jacket. The sleeve length is as shown on the model, and you can scrunch it up the way she had it as well. jacket was a shorter length than shown though, but if you put the right top underneath it, the top hangs out and it's really pretty. The front does hang longer though. The orange is a deep orange that still stands out, and is the perfect orange for fall.
I wore my usual size, size 6, and it fit well, even with having a shirt underneath, so stick with your normal size on it.
A very pretty, flattering jacket, but I'm going to wait because there are some other items I'd like more than this.

Got this at the store today. Absolutely beautiful jacket. Great construction and look. As far as sizing goes, I almost always wear a 10, sometimes an 8 (5'8, 160), but in this I felt like I needed an 11. The 12 looked baggy, but I felt like the 10 would have been nice to have just a tad bit of extra room. I got the 10 anyways. I'd say it runs true to size, but if you're inbetween sizes, size up for a comfortable fit.
