by AB115 Comfy pencil skirt? Yes, really!
After I clicked "place order" on this one I wasn't so sure. Is it too girly? Too fancy? Too expensive? :) I wasn't even sure after I slipped it out of the bag when it arrived yesterday but as soon as I threw on a tshirt and heels I fell in love with this skirt. I ordered a 4P (34-26-36, 115# for reference) and it was perfect. I don't usually order petites...I think I'm a tall 5'4 if that makes any sense (might just be wishful thinking)..but the petite in this case was great because it allowed the skirt to fall just at the top of my knee and not overwhelm me. The material is elegant but not so much so that you can't dress it down with a tshirt and flats. It's effortless sophistication. What other reviewers wrote about the waistband is accurate - it's a little wider in the front which makes tucking in tops easy and also flattens the belly a bit. The skirt does have a lining - it's thin which is good - doesn't add any bulk. The pockets are surprisingly great. They give a little more relaxed feel to the skirt. I had no trouble sitting, standing, walking in this - you know how sometimes pencil skirts bunch weird and feel awkward when you move around a lot - not the case with this. The color is just a little richer in person than online and it's perfect for spring/summer.

I tried on both the mint and the navy blue (which is dark enough to pass as black at a glance). You can see the brocade more on the mint color; the brocade looks more like lace on the navy blue until a closer examination. To be honest, the mint color definitely stands out a lot more than the navy. The navy colorway just looks too bland.
The skirt has a bit of a stretch, so you might want to try it on to get your actual size if you're in between sizes. My usual size was TTS, and the mint color is gorgeous. I'm 5'4" and the skirt hit me at the knee. And there are pockets! It sits at the waist comfortably that I'm considering purchasing the navy one later. The price seems fair, considering most pencil skirts go for more these days.

First, let me say that this skirt is beautiful. Second, let's talk about the sizing. :) I bought the skirt in both colors, just COMPLETELY different sizes. The mint green I bought in a size 6, and the navy a size 12. They both fit me. If you lay line them up on top of each other they are the exact same size. While someone might would say that it was just the skirt, it wasn't. I am a true 8 so to begin with a tried the 8 on in the navy. It was tiny. This same was true with the 10, and then the 12 fit. I had a 6 in the mint in the room, so I asked for a 12 in the mint. It fell off of me, literally. The inconsistency made me decide to try on the 6 in the mint, perfect fit.
Moral of story, buy the skirt, but order up in size if you want navy, and down in size for mint :)
P.S. anthro please be more consistent in sizing! ):
