 by frequentshopper2 Beautiful skirt!
I thought this skirt had either the potential to be dowdy or the potential to be beautiful...I think it's the latter!
As for the fit, it has a stretchy elastic waist that makes it very comfortable. I am 5'10" and 140 pounds, usually a size 6, and I took the size Small. It fits perfectly with some give in the hips. I am tall, but it hits about mid calf on me.
As for the cut/style, it is slightly a-line but not full. There are no pleats, so it looks nice and sleek up top and doesn't add volume.
The material is very soft lace, almost like cut velvet. I think it's beautiful for fall, the holidays, and into the winter. It's definitely not a four-season skirt, but I guess they all don't have to be.
I wore this on Thanksgiving day with a dark chambray shirt knotted at the waist and some tall Frye boots. It looked surprisingly casual but still really nice. I have it on in the picture with the Lapka Vest, a suggestion by a sales associate, and I really loved the vest and skirt together. I think it would also be really cute with a denim jacket or chunky off-whtie cable sweater. I love that it's a comfortable skirt that can be somewhat dressed up or down. A keeper for me!

I'm a size 14 and the large works. I'm short and I love the length. It is midway between knee and ankle. It's absolutely stunning with mint or black sequined top, add the seared chevron sweater from Anthro and black patent leather Jeffrey Campbell litas and you're set.

The waist is enormous and almost as wide as the hips. It is VERY long and maybe a bit dowdy and dated. I do not like this particular lace. The lace should have a higher cotton content to give it more substance. This kind if lace could almost be seen on lingerie. Lace is shiny. Colors are great. Pencil design also good. It i is the overall combination of lace quality, a smaller and fussier lace pattern, waistline that falls low and extreme length that are the problems for me. I would buy it on sale for the colors and the functionality going into evening and cocktails but only if the P was available. Does not look like something for going into the Spring season. Nor does it look expensive (which it really is not) but that lack of quality shows.
