Rated 1 out of 5 by It's strange I loved the fabric and the quality of this skirt. Very well made! The fabric is very stretchy and soft. I thought the length was rather strange. I'm 5.9" and it pretty much hit me like it's shown on the pictures. So it's not maxi, not mid-calf. Somewhere in between. Also, this is not made for curves. Because it's cut straight and the fabric is stretchy, it hugged every curve of my hips down to about half way to the knees and then just dropped straight down skimming the legs. Wasn't flattering or looked pretty. Probably would look a lot better on slender girls. February 13, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by not sure about this material i was really excited about this skirt, but it's times like these i really wish there was a physical anthro store in my city, because there are plenty of things that photos can't convey. the skirt looks like it would be very structured, with maybe a little spandex for movement like the listing indicates, but it is sooo loose and stretchy due to the fabric. the waistband is elastic and a very structured knit, which is great--it will hold its shape. unfortunately, the lining is a looser, ribbed knit, which 1) will lose its shape over time, as ribbed knits almost always do, and 2) doesn't fit as tight as i would personally like. the same goes for the sheer outer layer, which is a pleated fabric, and the pleats aren't sewn or fixed down in any way. although it looks nice now, i'm concerned that the outer layer may lose its pleating and thus its shape over time. as for the fit, i am a solid medium with curvy hips (28" waist, 39" hips), and while i sometimes have to size up on bottoms, i am seriously considering exchanging this for a small (or returning it altogether)--but again, i like my skirts to fit tight, and due to the fabric, especially the lining, that's not happening with this in a medium. if you like a looser fit, go with your usual size. i do love the versatility of this not-so-basic black skirt, and the look of the shorter lining vs the longer, sheer layer, so i'm torn over keeping it or not... Rated 3 out of 5 by Lovely style, not sure about fit The style of this skirt has the potential to be incredibly flattering and sexy. However, I was disappointed when it actually came through the mail. I purchased the full dress version of this skirt (also by Bordeaux), and being unable to zoom in close enough to the waistband in the skirt's pictures online, figured both the waistband and underskirt were of the same material as the dress. Not the case. I purchased the same size as the dress but waistband on the skirt was one band of elastic which made it tiny and unforgiving (unlike the dress). Having said that, if you are tall and slender, this will likely work well for you, as it is a beautiful skirt otherwise. If you're curvier on bottom, consider sizing up. April 21, 2013

Size Guide

How to Measure

Bust

Measure under your arms at the fuller part of your bust. Keep tape level across your shoulder blades.

Natural Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Drop Waist

Measure around your body 1 1/2" below your natural waist.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Inseam

Using a pair of your pants that fit well, measure from crotch seam to bottom of leg.

Rings

Wrap a length of string around your finger and mark where the end touches. Measure the distance between the end of the string and the mark you've made to determine what size to order.
