by MissBella Weirdly blousy top, maybe on purpose?
So. I saw that this ran small and went to try on a 10 instead of my usual 8. This was the right thing to do. The bottom of the dress fit perfectly. However, who the heck is the top cut for? Look at the photo I have attached. I have 34E (or DDD, or F, depending on the bra) boobs, and there is still WAY too muh fabric. Is this on purpose? Was it just the one I was looking at? I noticed other small-breasted ladies did not mention this. Me and the girl in the shop decided it was intentional. The question is - does it look great, or ridiculous? Jury's still out.

Im 5'9, 130 lbs. I LOVED this dress way more in person then online. I love that it has a vintage classic feel. The detail on it gives it an unexpected pop of color. I normally wear a 2 but had to size up to a 4 in this one and it was perfect. I sized up because it's very tight in the hips-note that the fabric doesn't have a lot of stretch... but if I can wear it to work and am able to move in it thats good enough for me. I will admit the price is a bit high for what it is but if your only into buying "love it" pieces maybe it's worth the investment for you as it was for me :) I plan on wearing it with my new red leather Sam Edelman boots I bought off o urbans website-woohoo!

I bought this dress almost as soon as it came out - I couldn't wait to get it in the mail. I'm normally a size 4 or 2 in Anthropologie dresses, and this dress appeared very fitted throughout the hips, thus I decided to choose the larger of my two size choices - Size 4. This dress has absolutely no give to it whatsoever. It is of course a silk/cotton blend, which I usually look for clothing made from natural fabrics or mostly natural fabrics, so I knew that it most likely was going to be very unforgiving in this department. My boyfriend told me the fabric felt like cotton bedsheets. He blurts out the most truthful statements, not meaning to be hurtful, but, he can't help it. The fabric clings and creeps up your thighs when you walk.
Ok, so, the hips barely fit - this garment runs small on the bottom, unless you are a very narrow hipped woman. And the chest is HUGE! I know they must have pinned the top on the Anthro model. It is so darn huge on top I could have fit breasts three times my size into the top. It bagged out everywhere and did not sit flush with my neck, like the model. These pictures on this website are deceitful. I've read some of the other reviews - almost everyone says the same thing about the top being over-proportionally huge.
Overall: it felt like I was wearing a skin tight pencil skirt with a balloon top to match, separated by a perfectly fitting belt of the same sheet-like fabric. Obviously, I sent it back. The print is darling, the length cute on petite forms, but unless you're a very large breasted lady with very narrow hips - this dress is not recommended for you.
