Rated 4 out of 5 by Va-va-va-Voom Vintage I tried on this exact dress in a different color combo at my local Anthro today (I think it was past season, so it made the sale rack, but the style and cut are exactly the same). I'm 5'7 and generally wear an 8 or a 10. I'm usually an 8 in wrap dresses and A-lines, and sometimes size up to a 10 in sheaths or dresses that are tailored closer at the hips and thighs. I sized up to a size 10 in this, and it fits like a glove. The fabric is of decent quality. It would have been nice if it was lined for an added touch of detail and attention, but it's not necessary. The sheen of the fabric gives it a polished look. This dress has such an adorably retro-vintage look that I adore. The colors are vibrant and the pattern is unique. It's pretty versatile and can be dressed up or down with accessories. (I plan on wearing it with the Yuzu Mary Janes, if I can get them on sale!) The cut is very figure flattering. I have an hourglass shape, and this fits in all the right places--hugging curves where it needs to, and flowing away at the hips to hide any lumps. I like that it's a faux wrap that is secured underneath. (No worries about breezes when wearing this frock!) I do wish it was an extra inch or two longer. I'm average height, and it's still appropriate, but it's about as short as I'd go for work attire. Ditto for the neckline. It is as low as I'll dare for office wear, and I might even wear a cami underneath if I want to be particularly modest. July 11, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not as expected I anticipated this dress for months: the red color, the cut, the floral design so when it went on sale I bought it immediately. When it arrived the fabric was heavier and more textured than the light and floaty picture in my mind. The color of the red was not as intense and the flowers didn't pop as they did in the photo. I found the dress to be at least a size smaller than the stated size. Alas, it is going back. December 1, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ill-Fitting I wasn't a fan of this dress. While I loved the print, the fit was way off- at least for me. In the picture this looks like it's a bit of an A-line... it's not. I'm a size 4 on top and 10 on the bottom, so I tend to go for a-line styles, which is why I ordered this. I ordered the 6 based on others' reccomendations of it running small, and it didn't work out. The skirt part was extremely fitted and I had a hard time even getting it over my hips, and the top was way way way too huge. Sizing aside, the style made it look like I was wearing an apron with sleeves. Very strange. Anyhow, I ended up returning it. It may work if you have more of an hourglass shape or apple shape than I do, but if your weight tends toward the hips... stay away. December 22, 2012
