Rated 2 out of 5 by Gorgeous Details, Awkward Fit So, the product shot of this coat is just so swoon worthy. And although white isn't the most practical color for a winter coat - the subtle color blocking - gorgeous buttons and adorable lining (bows and pok-a-dots) led me to quickly try this on. The coat is decently heavy and will definitely do well in more harsh winter climates. Unfortunately, all the amazing details in the world won't save this coat. I wish there was an option to say it runs "awkward" because I'm honestly not sure how this coat fits. Fit: I am normally an eight/ten in coats. This was the ten - and its just weird. I had some awkward puckering at the top - so that I couldn't get it sit correctly on my body - I have never tried on a coat that fits this way. I'm not sure whether sizing up or down would have fixed the puckering I experienced - but over all it just looked bad on my straight figure. The details on this coat are lovely - an I hope it works on someone - but I'd definitely recommend trying it on (in multiple sizes) before purchasing. November 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cute coat. I had the advantage of trying this in stores a couple of times, finding the perfect size for me, and then waiting to purchase as soon as it was on sale. I tried on the 6 and felt that yes, it was a little boxy and pretty roomy. The 6P was a little more "nipped in" and form-fitting, but still had a bit of room. I will assume that this extra room is for layering, which is something you have to do in Chicago. This was not a drawback for me at all. The color is a nice ivory with a lavender-grey middle panel. I really liked the color and again, had the benefit of seeing it in stores before buying it so I knew what I'd be getting. I find the jacket to be really warm with a just thick sweater and a scarf until about 18-19 degrees, which is when you'll need your heavier outer layer. When it dips down to 0-5 degrees, I wear this with a fairly thin down-filled Theory coat and it works great. I feel like the coat is structured well and is good quality. I didn't find it to be crazy itchy. My only gripe is that a button popped off in the grocery store and I had too many layers on to be able to bend over and find it underneath the shelves. Uggghhh. Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible quality and cut I could not resist this coat after seeing it on the October catalogue. Peplums! Sass! Whimsical! Parisian tailored chic! However my enthused exclamation marks ran away when the item arrived. I ordered a 00P (5'1, 100lb) and found it ran large with a boxy cut. I could have worn some football shoulder pads under this coat. The armholes are enormous, creating sad bulges large enough for BASE jumping when the belt is cinched. That's another thing: when tightening the belt for a fitted look, the peplum puckers up and flares out very weirdly. Worst of all, the fabric is insubstantial and slides around the lining. The beige panels, as others have said, are a gloomy purplish shade of gray. Could not get rid of it fast enough. October 15, 2013
