I could not WAIT to get this dress! I was very doubtful that it would fit so I just wanted to get it and quit the obsession, lol.. Although I have the Byron Lars Carissima in size 12 (black), and it fit well doesn't mean every cut from a designer does. I received it today and am happy to report it fits great!
I think the dress definitely runs a bit large. I have HUGE shoulders and 36DD-36DDD bust and about a 10-12 bottom, so I usually have to buy separates. Somehow this worked from top to bottom and with no "matron" thing going on. (Though I AM a matron, (minus the staid part) that's not the look I'm particularly looking to emphasize, as you might understand).
While this is my second favorite dress, (Carissima is first. Hard to beat that dress.) it feels good, and it's flattering. I think because it does have so much going on, with the different materials/colors and pailettes, it's a bit of a more casual dress especially compared to the Carissima (can you tell that I j'adore the Carissima?),
I think you have to be careful in this dress to make sure you are wearing it, and it's not wearing you. There's a fine line there.

The dress is quite busy. I was worried about this and it took a little getting use to but the longer I wore it the more I grew to like it. Part of what sold me on keeping this dress was the fit. It fits like a glove and gives a girl with pancake-butt syndrome, a butt and gives the illusion of a flat belly. I am 5'2" and just under 130 pounds typically a petite 6-8 in Anthro styles. I got the petite six and feel comfortable in this dress but not baggy.

I love the quirky/artsy nature of Byron Lars dresses. This dress has that in spades. As usual for this label it fits like a glove and feels great on. I would recommend this dress for anyone proud of their curves because it really shows them off.
