Corded Obsidian Dress

Rated 4 out of 5 by Timeless Classic I have wanted this dress since it appeared but by the time I resigned myself to coughing up the money it was sold out in my size. When they finally restocked a size six I bought it very excited. But it is too big! I am 5.1 34D/30/36 and the six fit well in the bust but was too large in the shoulders, waist, and hips. It is easily alterable in all but the shoulders which is what made the decision to send it back. It has a little padding in the shoulders to support the weight of the cording but it adds structure rather than bulk. It is also shaped like a true shift dress and does not nip in at all at the waist. At my 5.1 height it cut directly above my knees. The materail is a thin crepe that is lined. I take off points for it not being a natural fiber for the price and because it needs to taper in a bit in the waist to prevent it looking like a sack. All and all its a classic cut that will last years but the size just does not work for me. If anthropologie restocks a size four I will buy it again. December 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect LBD This is the perfect little black dress to have in your closet. Its a great staple piece because its a solid color but has great details. Love the fit with and without a belt. Easy to style casual or dressy. Bonus: has pockets. February 9, 2013

BLACK Style #:26873422 In keeping with the feminine, vintage-inspired collection, designer Cynthia Steffe of Cluny named the label after the intricate handmade lace. Combining a signature ladylike aesthetic with handcrafted details and street-edge chic, each piece offers a unique take on enduring, everyday glamour and occasion wear. A timeless take on the LBD, we love the dipped v-back and loopy cording on this stark shift. Corded Obsidian Dress
