This top is definitelly more of a sweater than a plain top. The fit is true to size, with a petite being better for women under 5'3". The fabric does not have much stretch to it, and it is substantial. It will probably be a great fall to early winter transitional piece, and good with a coat for winter. There's some great details to it, like actual lining throughout the torso, and very well stitched on gems. The wool content is quite low, and the lining fabric is slightly coarse. The peplum has a sort of curve to the cut, and really accentuates the waist and visually slims from under the bust to the high hip. This is a top where a camisole might be more appropriate #dryclean# so it should not be an issue.

I bought this top in the dark green, and I love it. FIT: I am anywhere from a size 8-10 depending on the top, and purchased a large. This fit me exactly as it is does the model. FABRIC: the knit is very thick. The construction is well done, and the peplum had just an much oomph when i pulled it out of the box as in the photo. As this top has a more robust knit, I plan on wearing it on its own as the days get chilly and then with an overcoat in winter. Even though this is listed as a top, I would classify it more as a sweater because of its thickness.

This top is so elegant. You could easily dress this for business or mix it up with a fun bottom or jeans for a dressy casual. I'm not sure why they reference it as purple because it is definitely more on the red side...I would say burgundy. It's a thick material...more nylon than wool. In fact, I was surprised to see that it had wool in it. It does have a good amount of stretch in it. The sleeves fall longer than the model shot but still ended about two inches from my wrist. I will say, it seemed an awkward length but makes it easy to showcase some bracelets and/or a watch. Really...I love it! For reference, I'm 135lbs, 34D and 5'5".
