Natural World Dessert Plate

Artist Lou Rota was drawn to the beauty of the natural world long before she took the wheel - the pottery wheel, that is. Her passion for entomology was piqued during the early days of her career, which were spent producing science and natural history documentaries. Today, from her West London studio, Rota designs the whimsical bugs, flowers and birds that grace her fine bone china. Here, vintage-inspired curves and flora are centered by an unexpected dinner guest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bellajewels Striking!!! Beautiful dessert plate with vibrant colors of lime green with bright red flowers and an elegant black swan. Appears to be well made and meant to pass down to future generations. I disagree with other reviewer. The plate is far from garish and looks just like photo. Not sure where she thought it would be yellow. Green works far better with the red, black and white. Just a matter of opinion. October 9, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by thrill the black swan plate is green, not yellow I purchased this plate online, trusting the photos which show the yellow-rimmed black swan plate. I was shocked to receive a plate that is actually apple green. it's not even close to the photo and not very attractive, frankly. The plate feels sturdy and thick, so not really dessert plate like, but I would trust it to be long-lasting, I think, if it weren't so garish looking. September 26, 2013
