Rated 4 out of 5 by Mixed feelings also but mostly positive I have two problems with this piece, though after months of going back and forth when I think about it, overall I am mostly satisfied. The first problems is one that other reviewers have mentioned- the drawers do not work properly. They are functional and not really an issue, it's just that the self-closing feature on both of them broke within 2 days of arrival, and the feature works on the third drawer but it works too well making it tough to close- I have to push hard. I expect more, but at the same time, this piece is still highly functional, large and holds a lot, and is less expensive than the other anthro dresser options, and only slightly more expensive than the retail prices from pieces of other large chains (e.g. Pier 1, World Market). I should also mention that I got this during anthro's fall 30% off furniture sale, so I am taking that into consideration with my review also. The second issue is that the wood grain is much less varied and warm in color than I expected. Based on the photos online and the piece that I saw in a store in Charlotte NC, I was expecting warmer tones with more intense variation. Not the case, it is much duller and grayer looking in person, and that was a bit disappointing. However, the patina on the sides is nice, and again the piece is really functional. I like having the space at the top of each drawer to pull them open rather than having to pull a handle. I also think it is versatile in that it would work well in a kitchen for extra storage or as a TV stand, etc. March 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent toy storage I bought this for our living room to store toys. It is more perfect than I could have imagined. I figured the space between each drawer (as access instead of pulls) would be ideal to save my 2 toddlers from finger slamming/pinching. I didn't expect the drawers to have a slow self closing feature..that really adds to the fine quality of this piece. The construction is excellent, it looks beautiful and unique, and there is a tremendous amount of space in each drawer for storage of all kinds of toys. The numbers were a cute idea to me that added to the toy storage theme. I am beyond thrilled with this purchase. April 15, 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mixed Feelings Well, when they unwrapped the dresser this morning, I was so excited. It was just as pictured, and the surface finishing was very well done, I thought. Rustic without looking cheap. However, it was soon apparent that there is a problem with the drawers. They just don't move smoothly at all - very clunky. The 1st drawer is almost perfect, but 2nd is hard to pull out, and 3rd feels loose and is hard to push back in. Considering the price of this dresser, that is a huge disappointment. I mean, if it were a discount piece, or used, I could live with quirks, but this is an expensive brand new item. That being said, it is super cool. So, overall, mixed feelings. October 11, 2012
