I swooned over this dress when I first saw it in the store. It is amazingly beautiful. The lace is gorgeous, and it is hard to see online, but there is this fabulous cut-out detail in the skirt. It is an incredible dress. BUT...
For reference, I am usually 4 in Anthro dresses, sometimes a 2. I am 5'7, between 115-120 pounds, 34 B/C, slim and straight, with no hips.
The store only had a 4 available the first time I saw this dress a week or two ago. The skirt is rather thick with a formed silhouette, and this size was too big in the rear area. I have been dreaming about this dress ever since, even though it is completely impractical for my lifestyle, and I don't know where I would ever wear it, and not to mention the price. But I was convinced that I need it anyway. You know the feeling...
Well, I had a chance to visit the store again today, and there it was, my size 2. At first glance in the mirror, my fantasy lived on. The dress fit like a glove. However, as I moved around a bit and then tested out what would happen if I sat down....I noticed the skirt would bunch up and kind of stick out in a wierd way in the wrong places. I tried to get a good picture of this. Even if I ever had occasion to wear this dress, I feel like I would probably be tugging at it all night to smooth out the skirt. As I mentioned, the next size up wasn't really a good fit for me either.
So, fortunately, due to the fit issues, I no longer feel compelled to buy this dress! Of course, it might be perfect for someone else's body type, so I would still highly recommend it, but try on first if you can!

- Unsure Fit
Ref: I own the Byron Lars Carissima Sheath in a 2.
Size 2 - Pros: The Ivory Lace portion of the dress fit wonderfully as with model photo.
Cons: Everything from the lower breastbone to the bottom of the dress was very bodycon. I didn't have much range of movement and bending over was not even an option.
Size 4 - Pros: Everything from the lower breastbone to the bottom of the dress now has ease of movement and is much less form-fitting. I can even cross my legs! Dress is also a tad longer, which is fine.
Cons: The Ivory Lace portion of the dress is now baggy and the nude slip underneath is now positioned low enough to expose my bra.
Overall: This design and color pallete from Byron Lars cannot be beat for the Spring! I wasn't able to compromise on the fit (I wanted the upper body fit of a size 2 and the lower body fit of a size 4), thus it was a pass on me. But I highly recommend it for those who can make it work! It's a gorgeous dress.
