Rated 4 out of 5 by Classy and flattering I was invited to the opera (!) last weekend by surprise, and accepted before I remembered I hate everything I own (I can't be the only person this happens to). Ran to the mall with two hours to spare, and grabbed this in Anthro to try on in a mad dash. I was completely surprised by how much I love this! Reading the other reviews now, I probably wouldn't even have tried it on if I'd looked it up beforehand, but I didn't find the dress boxy or unflattering at all. In fact, I think it actually made me look quite slim-- it probably has something to do with where the waist of the dress hits on you, so YMMV. The fabric is the best part, it's soft and the texture gives it something more special than the usual LBD. Because the dress hits (slightly) above the knee and also has an area where it's a bit sheer at the bottom (the under lining is shorter than the skirt) I was worried it would just not work on me, as I almost never wear dresses above my knees, but I was pleasantly surprised. The way the skirt was cut made it still look very classy and elegant. I'm giving three stars for quality because there was one area where a little thread was coming loose at the neckline (I trimmed it) and because it really needs those little bra-keep things in the tank sleeves-- I can't stand tacky bra straps hanging out of an otherwise great dress. I felt so glamorous last weekend, and this weekend I'm wearing to a more business-formal work dinner just paired with different accessories. Love! March 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Unflattering While soft and comfortable this dress has no zipper and I found it to be unflattering due to the unusual stretch over my breasts (34DD) adding weight to my hips and arms. I tried on both the Large and Medium, the M fitting better as it had a more cinched waist (pictured) April 22, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by comfy, but not for all body types First, the shape. This dress will probably fit the ladies who are less curvy. I tried on my usual size small and it fit ok. I have a moderate hourglass shape, and the dress looked nice from the front. But when I turned to look at my profile in the mirror, I could see that all the gathered fabric in the back at the waist was poufing out - there is just too much material back there and creates a lot of volume where you don't want it. Second, the fabric. Like some others have mentioned, the fabric really is beautiful and very, very comfy. The red is more of a bright orangey-red, and the navy is beautiful jewel-toned darker blue. The navy was my favorite. April 25, 2014

NAVY Style #:4130209022443 When it comes to the whims of spring, we're on the lookout for easy pieces that are forgiving of the forecast, or in other words, made to layer. Bordeaux's fit-and-flare dress does the trick: add a fuzzy sweater and patterned tights now and your favorite slides and sun-kissed shoulders later. Textured Tank Dress
