by faeriesdragon Just as pictured, layerable fun piece
I purchased this dress as an item for an upcoming vacation to Colorado. Knowing there would be cold days, I needed things that were not super thick but that would still keep me warm and would be easy to layer and I also wanted cozy as well. As soon as I saw this dress, I thought it would fit the bill perfectly and I am not disappointed. It looks exactly as pictured online, although you can barely tell that the side geometric panels are heather gray and not white and the interior pockets are lined with a cute circle pattern in cotton and the dress is unlined. Also, I have very small wrists/hands/arms and I can't comfortably push the sleeves up like the model can. For reference (seems like a silly reference, but works) my forearms are the circumference of an ice mountain water bottle and the sleeves of this dress have to be stretched to fit over the top of one. (Yes, I just did that.) However, if they were any looser, I am not sure it would work for the dress because of the material. The material itself is a gorgeous sweater knit in 100% cotton that is not very heavy and yet is warm all on it's own. The tag says it's made in china, hopefully we can see less of those tags at Anthro in the future. The back panel adds interest, and as a huge lover of raglan tees, this dress is a big seller for me because of that. I took photos to share with you, and I did not belt the dress or add any jewelry to distract from the dress. I am wearing a pair of purple opaque tights and knee-high boots to show how versatile the dress is. I can see this taking me all the way into the cold April months in Wisconsin, and bringing it back out in the fall, making it a great investment for me for the price and how much wear it will get.
For size reference, I definitely feel there is a possibility I could have sized down to a small in this, however the medium is comfortable and it may shrink in the wash so I am keeping the medium for myself. However, if you are smaller than me, I would highly recommend sizing down, you will be glad you did. I am 140 lbs, 36/28/38.

I may have a slight addiction to Saturday|Sunday dresses, but who doesn't love comfy dresses in a classic style? I don't think the pictures online do the dress justice. The monochromatic pattern is presented in an hourglass form, outlined by solid white fabric; this will give extra shape to anyone or (in my case) creates a sleek silhouette for people who already have curves. I'm usually in between sizes at anthro and in this case I went for the smaller size to have a more fitted dress than appears on the model. Also the pockets have a jazzy little pattern of their own. After being on the fence for a while about this dress I'm so glad I got it-- two thumbs up.

I HATE being cold in the winter. This dress is super warm, especially in the arms where I often get cold. The fabric is soft and comfortable too, and not at all scratchy. Looks good with a variety of belts and colored tights. Looks good with uggs and with chic boots. Take note that the side pockets add a slight bulk in the hip area, so that might bother some people, although the light gray side panels kind of slim the hips anyway. This is seriously my favorite winter dress!
