Mojave Peasant Dress

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bottomline...just okay There really isn't anything WRONG with this dress. I just walked away thinking it was okay. The waist runs a bit small. I'm typically a size small/4-6 in dresses and have a small waist...but the elastic on this is tight. Even if you loosen it, it just feels more snug than it should. I'm sure you could spice it up with a cute belt and boots, but I just wasn't left with the desire too. I do like the shirt dress style where it goes a little bit higher on the sides. The length in the model shot is about right. It's a lightweight rayon material...not a lot of stretch but it doesn't really require any. I'm 5'5", 135lbs and a 34D and tried the small. I would suggest sizing up one size to give you more wiggle room in the mid section. September 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Transition and beyond This is a darling little staple that easily works for 3 seasons. I'm 5'1 and purchased the regular xs. It lays well, is a little stretchy and flows nicely. I paired this with the "Campagne Camo Cardigan" by Sleeping on Snow. The pair is absolutely adorable. On its own it's very light, so if you're wanting this to take you through fall and then again early spring, you will need a cardi. October 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Classic peasant dress Size down in this dress, especially if you aren't a fan of an oversized look. I ordered a medium, which is typically the size I need to get the fit I want (I'm 5'4", 125; I prefer styles like this oversized, but I probably should have stuck with a small. The waist tie is very long, so pulling it tighter to cinch the elastic waist leaves very long ties on the ends. The blouson fit on top is almost billowy, which contrasts nicely with the dress's short length. The sleeves are baggy and when I roll them up the way the model has, they become very billowy and almost comical, so I've rolled them over the elastic for a similar look. Still, it's a classic peasant dress that has an almost vintage appearance. The short length keeps the look from being overdone or matronly. The material is comfortable, and breathable; I was surprised to see it was rayon. I also appreciate a comfortable, versatile dress that isn't overly feminine and frilly. December 30, 2013

BLACK MOTIF Style #:29194610 With an appreciation for eras-old details, Holding Horses draws inspiration from vintage Americana: a cowboy's tooled and tanned saddle; the bright palette pops of blankets and ponchos; patinaed rivets, buckles and belts. At once rugged, adorned and practical, Holding Horses evokes an upscale-downhome feel with their slouchy leather bags, rough-and-tumble boots and made-to-last denim. This silky peasant dress is apple-picking perfection with suede ankle boots and an oversized cardi. Mojave Peasant Dress
