The print is a whimsical take on the nautical trend. The dress is very short. I am 5'9', and if I raise my arms you can see my butt. That said, a fun length for full on summer. I will wear it over leggings and skintight jean capris until the heat comes that allows for more leg.
The dress fits slightly large. But the loose fit and thicker material levels out the shorter fit. I took a 6. Slightly hippy, I am a 4-6 in dresses, a 6-8 in pants.

i love the picture of the sealife dress and wanted to love the dress itself, but unfortunately when it arrived, i didn't. i like wearing natural materials and the dress is 100% cotton, but 100% uncomfortable. it is thick sweatshirt-like on the outside, but very itchy terry cloth on the inside (i suppose to absorb water because it is a 'by the beach/pool dress'). the color is more beige heather grey than creamy white as i was expecting. the print whale & flower color is navy blue. as for fit, i normally wear a 2-4 and the 2 fit fine. as other reviewers mentioned, there is a lot of draped fabric in the back. it is also very short!

I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it. I was a little concerned by the sweatshirt nature of the material, and I was correct that it's a little heavy in person. However, it's also incredibly soft. The pattern in life is cute- whales and flowers- totally ridiculous but oddly wearable, as they almost look like paisley and flowers. I've already gotten several comments.
I ordered the 6, the larger size of dress I usually fit in at Anthro, because my other dress from Karen Walker's line is a 6 and fits perfectly. The cut of this dress is a little looser, and I was worried that it was actually too baggy, and I considered returning it for the 4. It is rather short, though, and I thought perhaps the 4 would be too much so. It is considerably shorter than most of my other Anthro purchases; hanging in my closet it is a good 3-4 inches shorter than the others around it. I felt the looser cut made this workable, as it's sweet rather than being a little too suggestive.
Thus far, I've found it adorable with boots and tights, and I can see how it will be very cute into spring and summer. The fabric, though a tad heavy, is very breathable.
The ruffle details are very flattering and cute, and I would say that the line through the shoulders runs true to size. The fabric has some stretch, but not a great deal, so keep that in mind for selecting a size. As a recommendation, I would say to figure this dress is a weekends and fun-times dress, and more also for relaxed occasions where a looser fit seems appropriate to you than going out or even work-related occasions. It's very casual, and the length might be problematic. For that kind of dress, this is an expensive option. I felt its pattern and cut were enough to make it worth it for me, but it might not seem that way to everyone.
